About your Skills

  • Product obsession: You get genuinely excited about great software and that energy comes through in everything you do.
  • Cultural intelligence: You understand the subtleties of Japanese business culture — nemawashi, ringi, reading the room — and you navigate them naturally.
  • Exceptional communicator: Clear, confident, and adaptable — whether you're presenting to 200 people or explaining a technical concept one-on-one.
  • Technically curious: You don't need to be a developer, but you need to be comfortable going deep when the conversation calls for it.
  • Relationship builder: You invest in people for the long term. Customers trust you and look forward to hearing from you.
  • Bridge builder: You're equally effective representing the Japan market to a global team and representing a global product to a Japanese audience.

About this Role

This is not a typical pre-sales role.  We're looking for someone who genuinely loves technology, gets excited talking about what our platform can do, and has the rare ability to make that excitement contagious — in a boardroom, in a product demo, or over dinner in Tokyo.

You'll work across the full customer journey — from early-stage pipeline through to deepening relationships with our existing customer base — and you'll do it with the cultural fluency and business acumen that the Japanese market demands.

You'll be a trusted partner to prospects and customers alike: the person who listens carefully, understands the problem, and shows — compellingly, credibly — how our platform solves it.

Pre-Sales & Pipeline Support

  •     Partner closely with the Japan sales team to support active opportunities from first demo through to close.
  •     Lead compelling, tailored product demonstrations that speak directly to each prospect's business context and pain points.
  •     Respond to technical queries, RFPs, and security questionnaires with clarity and confidence.
  •     Run proof-of-concept engagements that give prospects a genuine feel for the platform's value in their environment.
  •     Help shape the commercial conversation by articulating ROI, use cases, and competitive differentiation in ways that land with Japanese buyers.

Customer Success & Expansion

  •     Build deep, trusted relationships with existing customers - acting as their go-to technical advisor and product champion.
  •     Run regular business reviews, product updates, and enablement sessions to keep customers engaged and growing their usage.
  •     Identify expansion opportunities within the existing customer base and work with the account team to develop them.
  •     Act as the voice of the Japanese customer internally - capturing feedback, surfacing product gaps, and advocating for the market's needs.

Market Presence

  •     Represent the company at Japanese tech conferences, industry events, and customer meetups.
  •     Create and deliver presentations, webinars, and product content tailored for a Japanese audience.
  •     Build relationships within the local tech ecosystem — partners, communities, and influencers — that strengthen our presence in market.
  •     Collaborate with marketing to localise content, campaigns, and messaging that resonates authentically in Japan.

Internal Collaboration

  •     Serve as the primary bridge between the Japan market and global product, engineering, and marketing teams.
  •     Provide structured market feedback that helps shape the product roadmap for the region.
  •     Contribute to onboarding and enablement materials that help the wider team better understand the Japan opportunity.

What you’ll have

While this work is based more on the skills a person has than what they have done, we think a typical profile could include the following:

  • 6-8 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or customer success role within a SaaS or cloud technology environment.
  • A track record of successfully supporting complex sales cycles and contributing to closed business.
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise or mid-market customers in Japan.
  • Familiarity with SaaS concepts, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and integration patterns — enough to hold your own with technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with or for a global technology company, navigating between local market needs and a distributed team.

Application window:

We anticipate the application window will be open until 7th September 2026. Based on business needs, this opportunity may remain posted beyond or closed before the anticipated application window.
