You partner effectively with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to uncover executive-level business objectives and map them to business cases and tangible ROI that result in winning outcomes and strong customer retention.

About this role

Udemy is seeking an accomplished Senior Value Engineer to drive business value realization for our largest enterprise accounts in North America. Reporting to the global head of Sales & Solutions Engineering, you will be instrumental in helping our Sales and Customer Success teams create compelling business cases that directly align Udemy solutions with executive-level business objectives.

You'll bring a proven track record in quantifying and communicating business value to executive stakeholders, with a particular focus on verticals including Professional/IT Services, Financial Services,  Technology, Manufacturing, and Retail. In this critical role, you will develop and deliver ROI models and value frameworks that demonstrate how our learning solutions drive concrete business outcomes. Your ability to build compelling business cases, even with limited customer information, will be essential to our success.

As a key member of our go-to-market team, you will lead value strategy discussions with executive stakeholders and develop standardized, repeatable approaches to business case creation. You'll work closely with Sales, PreSales, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to ensure consistent value demonstration across the customer lifecycle. Success in this role means directly impacting our growth through increased win rates in new logo acquisition and stronger retention rates in our enterprise accounts.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, implement, and maintain value engineering assets, including key business value drivers, compelling business case presentations, and ROI models/metrics tailored to our online learning solutions and priority verticals.
  • In collaboration with our go-to-market teams, conduct in-depth client discovery sessions to understand their business objectives, challenges, and potential areas for value creation, and growth opportunities.
  • Create detailed, data-driven business cases and ROI models that quantify the impact of our learning solutions for client business objectives and outcomes, and demonstrate ROI throughout the customer lifecycle in partnership with Customer Success and Professional Services.
  • Work closely with Account Executives and Customer Success to develop value-based proposals and presentations for high-value opportunities, including strategic account planning to identify upsell and expansion opportunities based on demonstrated value, ensuring a strong value engagement throughout the customers’ lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain value engineering tools, templates, and best practices tailored to focus verticals and customer needs, incorporating evolving industry trends and benchmark data to continuously refine our value propositions/metrics and ensure they remain competitive and relevant.

What you’ll have

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in value engineering, solution consulting, or similar roles, preferably in a SaaS e-learning business (i.e., EdTech).
  • Demonstrated experience constructing and communicating compelling business cases and ROI models at the executive level, with proven ability in building trust and influence with VP-level/C-level stakeholders, and skilled at leveraging industry knowledge and benchmarks to create credible value metrics while adapting communication style and approach based on executive audiences and their strategic priorities.
  • Proven track record in maintaining a high level of productivity, managing multiple competing priorities and working effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated experience articulating business cases and ROI models in support of strategic Sales and Customer retention activities in a SaaS business.
  • Demonstrated experience with value-based selling methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.

  • Coachability: You demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and incorporate feedback to enhance strategies and achieve performance targets, fostering continuous personal and professional growth.
  • Expertise & Collaboration: You partner effectively with Sales and Customer Success teams, bringing expertise in business case development and ROI analysis to drive strategic growth in large enterprise sales opportunities. You use strong data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), with presentation and communication skills to articulate complex value propositions to VP-Level/C-level executives.
  • Curiosity: You exhibit a natural curiosity and hunger for knowledge, constantly seeking to understand market trends, client preferences, and competitive analysis to inform strategy and drive business success.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
