Hybrid work

Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, and Melbourne. This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office at the nearest hub. About you 

  • You’re highly-collaborative and have a humble (low-ego) approach to creating and sharing design ideas.
  • You’re open minded about everything and always looking to learn more about design, the ed tech industry and eager to try out new methods in your work.
  • You’re capable of actively managing your time and collaborating across multiple time zones
  • You facilitate ideation within your product area and champion the users while managing stakeholder input.
  • You regularly and clearly articulate your design process, key decisions, and the information and insights that informed your decisions.
  • You have experience in leveraging design systems in your work to reduce the cost of shipping products across platforms while maintaining a cohesive user and brand experience.
  • You can move high-priority projects toward delivery in a fast-paced agile environment.

About this role 

As our Senior Growth Designer, you will contribute to our UX strategy and execution for Udemy's global consumer and B2B learning products. You will help communicate the value of Udemy’s learning platform to new customers, make it easy for a wide range of users to dive right into learning, as well as help Learning & Development professionals find the right learning products for their teams. As a Product Designer, you also help drive ideas that envision the future of learning and have a passionate approach to design innovation and contributing to new, innovative ideas.

Udemy’s unique blended model is powered by the synergy between our global D2C marketplace and our B2B business, and substantial design experience in (one or more of) the Ecommerce, B2B and Subscriptions spaces is essential. 

Udemy was a first mover in the creator economy, and our success is rooted in our ability to transfer knowledge effectively and authentically between our expert practitioner instructors and our learners. Leveraging the latest advances in machine-learning and learning science, we are constantly developing new ways to deliver learning outcomes and helping learners reach their career goals. You will help frame and present these offerings to our learners, business partners, and instructors around the world.

What you'll be doing

  • Leverage expertise and collaborate with a cross-functional team spanning consumer research, data science, product management, and engineering to test, iterate and launch features that advance our mission
  • Drive the design process and quality by creating multiple (different) concepts for consideration and ultimately taking solutions through multiple iterations and feedback rounds to ensure the best user experience.
  • Collaborate with team members on qualitative and quantitative insights into opportunities, consider cross-functional dependencies and make informed recommendations when solving problems
  • Validate solutions through research and user feedback, evaluating and understanding the impact, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Drive the team’s efforts to solve priority problems and opportunities through workshops and other ideation methods
  • Balance business needs and user needs, while drawing on the product design expertise, evaluating new risks and opportunities as they arise
  • Prioritize and complete work with some autonomy, seeking occasional input from leads and stakeholders
  • Give and solicit feedback in order to continually raise the bar for quality and craft
  • Embrace our culture of experimentation and A/B testing

What you’ll have

  • 7+ Years of Product design / UX design experience
  • A portfolio of end-to-end product design work that showcases your involvement, from research and discovery to strong visual design and engineering implementation support, and demonstrates your ability to lead and ship products that users love.
  • Experience working with Product Managers, Researchers and Engineers in previous roles
  • Excellent interaction design, visual design, and prototyping skills
  • A track record of designing and shipping products and leading projects to successful outcomes for global users while being aware and informed by the business priorities.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate and present rationale behind your design decisions - especially documentation, diagrams, and slide presentations that quickly show relevant parts of your design process to create compelling rationale.
  • An ambassador for design who brings diverse stakeholders together to align and work together to solve problems.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.

Hiring Compensation Range

$1,200,000 - $1,500,000 MXN
