Hybrid work
Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, Mexico, and other US locations. This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office in Mexico City. Learn more about us on our company page.
About your skills
- Software Development: Experience with modern programming languages. Back-end and/or microservices experience is a bonus.
- Communications: Eager to learn from a team of senior engineers. We have a collaborative team culture and regular standups. We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and asks lots of questions!
- Project management: Ability to organize a project and get things done!
About this role
The core services team is responsible for some of the key services on Udemy’s teaching and learning platform. We work primarily with a high-volume, low-latency microservices environment with Kotlin, Spring, GraphQL, Kotlin, gRPC, and DynamoDB.
What you’ll be doing

Contribute to the process of defining and designing features in a highly collaborative agile environment

Design, specify and implement features and services

Participate in code reviews making sure that our code is well designed, tested, robust, secure, performant and readable

Document, monitor and maintain features post-release

Grow your Software Engineering skills
What you’ll have
Education or experience in computer science, AI, mathematics or other related analytical (i.e. STEM) disciplines.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming principles
Experience with modern programming languages. We often use Python, Java, React, and Javascript.
Excellent communication skills in English
Experience building web application as an academic project is a plus

Hourly Pay Range
