Where we work
Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About this role
The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in executing daily procurement activities, sourcing goods and services, and contributing to strategic procurement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with your manager, colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders to meet Udemy objectives in the supply chain. You will manage day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative in prioritizing activities based on importance and urgency, and effectively handle complex, sometimes ambiguous projects.
What you’ll be doing

Execute procurement processes effectively, making informed decisions with input from management and stakeholders.

Independently manage day-to-day purchasing tasks with minimal supervision, applying intermediate procurement expertise.

Tackle complex, diverse, and occasionally ambiguous projects, demonstrating strong analytical skills and sound judgment.

Recommend and implement process improvements, providing thoughtful suggestions to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clearly identify objectives and procurement requirements; work across functions to achieve desired outcomes.

Prioritize tasks and responsibilities according to their importance, urgency, and overall organizational impact, clearly articulating your approach and action plan.

Assume project leadership roles within your own team, beginning to set direction and coordinate activities effectively.

Maintain strong internal relationships and expand your network externally, fostering collaboration and gaining insights beneficial to procurement goals.
What you’ll have

5+ years of relevant procurement experience, showing a growing ability to manage responsibilities independently.

Foundational and practiced knowledge of procurement principles, concepts, processes, and best practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across internal teams and external networks.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and articulate clear and frequent updates cross functionally.

Experience working in a Audited SOX environment is a plus

A foundational knowledge of finance and budgets in an accrual based company is a plus
