Where we work
Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the Dublin office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
About your skills

Localization Expertise: Deep understanding of localization and internationalization best practices and industry standards.

Project Management: Proven project management skills, including scoping, planning, and executing complex localization projects. The ability to manage timelines, LSP output, and quality assurance at scale is critical.

Tech & Automation: Experience integrating localization automation and coding practices into existing engineering, development, and project management workflows. Experience with AI-assisted translation workflows.

Influencing: Develop relationships effectively up, down, and across the organization and strategically use these relationships to help drive work forward. Scope a solution that will "get to yes" and push back on disagreement if they do not provide the needed outcome for the team or the business.
About this role
The role of Technical Localization Project Manager at Udemy requires expertise in both regular project management and technical proficiency, specifically in scripting and automation. You will play a crucial role in managing localization projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to scope projects and launches, utilizing coding and automation to improve localization processes. This hybrid position offers an opportunity to lead international expansion efforts, influence global users, and contribute to continuous improvement through automation and technical expertise. You’ll play a critical role in modernizing our localization tech stack, leveraging AI and automation to scale efficiently and deliver faster, smarter global content.
What you’ll be doing

Work with global, cross-functional teams, including product, legal, support, web development, sales, and marketing, to drive program execution.

Create and manage multiple project schedules simultaneously across a range of initiatives from scratch, and with the help of AI tools.

Develop and implement automation solutions for localization processes and workflows, continuously improving how we leverage new technologies and AI to drive efficiency and accuracy of our localization efforts.

Anticipate issues, monitor risks, and actively remove barriers to progress.

Successfully set expectations to ensure alignment across groups and hold project stakeholders accountable.

Consistently communicate project status/issues/roadblocks to internal teams and external vendors.

Create and contribute to documentation and conduct training on localization best practices for internal teams.
What you’ll have
-
5+ years of experience in localization engineering or localization project management.

Hands-on experience with machine translation and AI-enhanced localization tools; comfortable evaluating quality and post-editing MT output.

Proficiency in additional programming languages commonly used in automation, such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby. Technical knowledge of basic scripting.

Very skilled with Translation Management Systems (TMSs) and experience with different Content Management Systems (CMSs) like WordPress and Contentful.

Strong project management skills.

Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in managing timelines and documentation.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience with Agile localization practices.

Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus.
