The Opportunity: 

UJET is seeking a visionary and hands-on IT Manager to lead our internal IT operations from our Austin hub. We're looking for someone who can not only manage our IT infrastructure with precision and care but also has a knack for pioneering change in automation, generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance our internal systems and workflows. You'll be orchestrating the digital experience for our internal teams, ensuring they have the tools, support, and innovative solutions to thrive. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing small, but mighty IT team and collaborate with global IT initiatives. Develop and execute IT strategies that align with UJET’s rapid growth and technological advancements.
  • Automation Evangelist: Identify, champion, and implement automation opportunities across our IT landscape. Think beyond the ordinary – how can we make our internal processes frictionless and lightning-fast using clever automation?
  • AI Pioneer: Drive the exploration, integration, and management of generative AI within our internal IT environment. Imagine the possibilities: intelligent IT support, automated content generation for internal documentation, smart knowledge bases, and more!
  • Infrastructure & Operations: Oversee the day-to-day IT operations, including network, security, hardware, software, and cloud-based services. Ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and secure. Define and refine our IT policies as we continue to scale out across teams and geographies.
  • Employee Onboarding & Enablement : Manage IT programs and processes that ensure a seamless onboarding experience that ensures effective employee enablement; team provides ongoing support and guidance to employees as needed.
  • Security & Compliance Champion: Maintain and enhance our IT security posture, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements (like SOC 2, ISO 27001) and internal policies. You’ll work with our Compliance team to ensure data protection and privacy.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring we get the best solutions and support for our needs.
  • Problem Solver: Be the go-to person for complex IT challenges, always ready with innovative solutions and a collaborative spirit.
  • Collaboration Architect: Work closely with all departments across UJET, from Engineering to Sales, understanding their needs and delivering IT solutions that empower them.

What You Bring to UJET:

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing IT teams and infrastructure in a high-growth SaaS company with globally dispersed staff.
  • Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology Field - IT, IS, CS and Certifications in ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure, or similar are highly preferred. A combination of experience, education, and certifications will be considered. 
  • Automation Wizardry: Strong experience in IT process automation, scripting, and implementing automation tools and platforms, Okta Workflows, and low-code tools.
  • AI Acumen: Demonstrable experience or strong familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical application in enterprise IT environments.
  • Cloud Command: Solid understanding and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS applications, and IAM systems like Okta, Active Directory, OneLogin, Auth0, etc.
  • Security Savvy: Deep knowledge of IT security best practices, data protection principles, and experience with compliance frameworks.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, system administration, and modern IT infrastructure.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – you can explain complex technical concepts to anyone, from engineers to executives.
  • A "Roll-Up-Your-Sleeves" Attitude: You're not afraid to get into the weeds, lead by example, and solve problems creatively. 
  • Integrity: You exemplify and champion making the right choices for the company and our employees. 
  • Austin Local: This role is primarily remote with 2 days onsite in our Austin, Texas office.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000 with final compensation based on skills, experience, education, and level determination.
