Role: Field Coordinator 

Hours: Full time

Pay: Up to £4,000 GBP Gross per calendar month (Dependent on experience)

Duration: 12 months dependent on funding 

Location: Ukraine

This role is within our Ukraine Programme and will be carried out in Ukraine.

Preferably applicants need to have an existing right to enter Schengen Zone countries in order to transit to Ukraine e.g. citizenship/residence of a Schengen Zone country, or an ETIAS eligible country (https://www.etiasvisa.com/etias-requirements) but this is not essential.  

Can you provide leadership and management for our humanitarian health programming in Ukraine? 

UK-Med is a humanitarian NGO that has been responding to disasters for over thirty years. We prepare and equip medical teams in the UK and globally to respond when epidemics, conflict, and natural disasters occur. We provide the clinical component and key support structures of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) in line with WHO standards.

We are recruiting for Field Coordinators to manage, coordinate, and lead the field team across a specific geographic area, ensuring all team members can meet their objectives in a complex and dynamic context. The Field Coordinator will report directly to the Country Director and duties will include:

  • Programme management and ensuring effective programme delivery
  • People leadership, including direct line management of staff
  • Communication with and reporting to the Country Director
  • Ensuring effective administration and logistics for programme activities
  • Ensuring the programme runs in line with donor requirements, including effective financial management
  • Ensuring effective security management
  • Ensuring an effective safeguarding approach across the programme

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of humanitarian relief work and capacity building, including relevant experience in a field-based humanitarian context. Proven experience in managing and coordinating emergency programmes in complex and insecure environments, including experience in security management, is required.

Candidates should demonstrate how they have led people and teams to successful delivery in demanding environments and applied their management skills to build impactful programmes.
