We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Field Application Scientist to join our team!
This is a full time onsite position at our Fremont, CA location.
How You’ll Contribute
- Empower customers by guiding application development efforts that unlock the full potential of our technology platform
- Deliver expert training to customers on the latest processes, kits, and instrumentation, empowering them for success
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and collaborate with internal experts to ensure fast, effective resolution of customer issues
- Take ownership of customer issues by documenting, resolving, and escalating cases promptly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction
- Partner with sales to deliver technical and market guidance across the customer journey, including the design and execution of pilot experiments that enable successful technology adoption
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales and marketing to develop and present engaging, high-impact product demonstrations and technical content
- Represent the company at customer sites and scientific conferences, serving as a technical ambassador for our solutions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, with extensive laboratory experience across multiple life science platforms, particularly in next-generation sequencing (NGS)
- BS with 8+ years of relevant experience, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of related experience
- Hands-on experience and a strong working knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation workflows, including sample handling, quality control, and optimization across diverse input types
- Experience in the development of biomedical or scientific instruments and in the generation and/or analysis of genomic data
- Demonstrated ability to balance long-term strategic goals with short-term deliverables
- Self-driven and highly motivated, with the ability to operate with urgency, ownership and accountability in a fast-paced, collaborative, multidisciplinary startup environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow complex operating procedures accurately
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to high-quality results
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring peers or customers
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and reside within one to two hours of a major airport. Travel includes field support with sales, customer meetings, and participation in trade shows and conferences
At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $120,000 and $150,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
