
Senior Facilities Tech II

This hands-on Senior Facilities Tech II role focuses on facility maintenance within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanroom and support spaces through structural repairs, equipment upkeep, and preventive tasks. The position supports inspection readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance, while requiring collaboration across departments and a willingness to learn new technical skills.
Work Model:
Core Lab & Ops: This role typically requires that the majority of the work be conducted on-site and thus will be subject to certain on-site safety protocols during the pandemic.
Responsibilities:
- Perform facility maintenance tasks in GMP areas according to established schedules and procedures.
- Maintain and repair ceiling systems, epoxy floors, walls, door adjustments, and mechanical insulation to preserve cleanroom integrity.
- Patch and paint surfaces using epoxy-based coatings to meet GMP standards.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment per established schedules.
- Support equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Respond to urgent repairs and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering, validation, automation, and QA teams to support facility upgrades and investigations.
- Ensure all work complies with cGMP, EHS guidelines, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in CMMS, including work orders, and materials used.
- Identify and escalate potential equipment or system failures proactively.
- Promote safety by using proper PPE and addressing hazards promptly.
- Participate in cross functional teams created to perform investigations, root cause analysis, deviation/CAPA creation or improvement opportunities as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in facility maintenance or related trade preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance and mechanical systems, ideally in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Proven experience in facility infrastructure, including epoxy flooring, epoxy painting, insulation, and equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements, cleanroom protocols, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, facility layouts, schematics, and SOPs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial tools and systems.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and adapt to evolving operational needs.
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Safety Considerations:
- Stand for extended periods of time with periodic stooping / bending / kneeling.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights.
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs.
- Work in a controlled environment requiring GxP gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body. This requires the ability to change clothes into appropriate gowning and personal protective equipment.
- Certain tasks may require use of a respirator; medical clearance will be required in advance.
- Must remove all make-up, jewelry, and contact lenses while in the manufacturing environment.
