Position Summary:

The Business Operations Lead will be responsible for driving the efficient execution of business operations across the Central Cluster (France and Belgium, Netherland and Luxembourg). This role ensures alignment between scientific, commercial and operational functions in fast paced, dynamic biotech organization. The individual will work closely with cluster leadership and serve as a key interface with the regional team to define strategic priorities, improve processes and oversee day-to-day business activities . This person should have experience with commercial and/or marketing, financial, supply chain and operational processes to be able to lead critical operations to support the business.

Work Model: 

Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cross functional Cluster leadership and governance support: Support the VP GM in driving agenda preparation, slide preparation and leadership of key strategic operational meetings, offsites and forums. Developing and executing operational plans that align with corporate goals.  
  2. Business Reviews and Strategic planning: Collaborate with Regional Finance, Medical and  Commercial/Business Operations to prepare and execute effective finance & performance management processes– QBRs, Country launch reporting, Launch excellence dashboards and reporting, monthly revenue reviews, Budgeting and LRP 
  3. Operational effectiveness:  Identify and lead diverse projects at the cluster level in collaboration with the Region to improve overall processes and operational effectiveness. (e.g localization of regional initiatives, trainings or materials, sales force effectiveness etc.) 
  4. Supply Chain Optimization: Partnership with regional business operations and Responsible Pharmacist on S&OP and supply processes and work with third party vendors to optimize set up and operations of Home Infusion services and other Patient Support Programs required to improve efficiency and compliance in accordance with local regulations.  
  5. Go to Market Operational set up including Site Readiness: Collaborate with the Regional Gene Therapy team to start to identify sites that might be considered for upcoming Gene therapy programs and work on Site Readiness preparation and set up  
  6. Project Management and Resource Allocation: overseeing key projects, ensuring timelines, budgets and deliverables are met. Managing project budgets and third-party vendors to ensure optimal resource use. 
  7. Compliance & Risk Management: ensuring adherence to local regulations e.g. DMOS etc ABPI, LIF etc. and mitigating operational risks 
  8. Analytics and Insights generation: collaborating with the Regional Analytics team to ensure that maximum benefits are derived from field level interactions.  
  9. Order Management: keep track of client orders by products and indications and manage contacts with pharmacies and finance departments of hospitals. Ensure that hospital orders are transferred to logistic partner in France. Work in close collaboration with finance and customer service as well as supply chain departments. Manage hospital marché agreements in France. Debt collection if required.  
  10. Declarations to authorities: prepare and manage declarations ex. ANSM, CEPS etc.  

Requirements:

Education 

1. Bachelor’s degree (required) in: 

Biotechnology, Biology or Life Sciences, Business Administration or Management 

2. Advanced Degree (preferable) in: 

Master of Business Administration (MBA), Masters/PhD in a life science discipline 

3. Certifications (optional): 

Project management, Lean Six Sigma 

Experience 

1. Industry Experience: 5-10 years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life science industries. 

2. Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams (scientific, commercial, and operational teams). 

3. Core skills: 

-Strong understanding of biotech business operating models, market dynamics and regulatory landscape 

-Financial acumen (budget management, financial forecasting, demand planning, KPIs) 

-Strategic planning and execution 

-Stakeholder management (internal teams, external vendors) 

-Excellent communication and negotiation skills 

4. Technology and Tools: 

-Familiarity with biotech-specific software and databases (e.g. CRM systems) 

-Proficiency in data analytic tools and reporting systems

3. Ability to manage ambiguity and lead change initiatives and scale operational models in evolving environments.

Location 

Based in Ile de France , with occasional travel to cluster countries and EMEA HQ in Switzerland and other meetings.  

Hybrid position. 

Language  

Required: French, English,  

Preferable: Dutch
