
Senior Revenue Accountant
Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will demonstrate strong ownership, judgment, and attention to detail while performing assigned responsibilities and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. Areas of responsibility include the preparation, recording, analysis, and review of revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), corporate policies, SOX requirements, and external audit standards. This individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue analyses, and supporting schedules for financial statement reporting.
The Senior Accountant will contribute to the development and implementation of procedures and internal controls to support an efficient, compliant, and scalable financial reporting environment.
Work Model:
Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Review of transactions for compliance with ASC-606 revenue standards
- Reconcile transactions issued by the supply chain team for multiple territories
- Perform revenue data analysis in revenue and accounts receivable and associated reserves
- Prepare and review gross-to-net accruals and related reserve analyses
- Support revenue recognition for product sales and collaboration arrangements
- Analyze chargebacks, rebates, returns, government pricing-related reserves, and other deductions from revenue
- Reconcile distributor, wholesaler, or third-party logistics activity to revenue and AR records
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close
- Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, commercial, and various business owners on a variety of projects
- Perform and maintain assigned internal controls on a monthly basis
- Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis at month-end close
- Participate in revenue accounting projects, including system enhancements process improvements, automation initiatives, and implementation of new business models or contract arrangements
- Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
- Assist in financial reporting during the month-end close process
- Analyze/prepare aging reports and perform collection efforts as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in accounting
- Experience with pharmaceutical/biotech revenue models, such as product revenue, gross-to-net, rebates, chargebacks, distributor arrangements, returns reserves, and government pricing a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems and revenue subledger tools preferred
- Public company, SOX, or external audit experience preferred
- CPA or CPA track preferred
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint & Word
- Strong analytical skills
- Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP experience preferred

The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job, such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.
Pay Range
$100,000 - $123,600 USD
