Business Development Advisor

Remote (RMT)

Ultimate Medical Academy is a non-profit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

Purpose of the Position:

The Business Development Advisor is a key member of the Career Services team, focused on driving positive career outcomes for graduates while supporting the institution’s strategic goals. This role is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with employers, community organizations, and industry leaders to expand career opportunities for UMA graduates. Through strategic outreach, partnership development, and close collaboration with internal teams, the advisor ensures alignment between employer needs and student capabilities.

 

What You’ll Do:

  1. Territory Management and Employer Relationship Development: Oversee an assigned geographic area with autonomy. Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with employers in the allied healthcare sector. Use market insights and CRM data to identify high-potential employer partnerships and create meaningful employment opportunities for graduates.
  2. Prospective Employer Outreach: Proactively engage potential employer partners through cold calling and effectively utilize the internal lead management system to expand the employer network. Engage in meaningful dialogue with to understand their evolving workforce needs, challenges, and hiring priorities.
  3. Strategic Employment Planning: Develop and grow new and existing relationships within the healthcare industry to proactively identify future job opportunities for graduates. Partner with Career Services Advisors to match graduates with suitable employment opportunities and support their career development.
  4. Graduate Placement & Employer Engagement: Align graduates with well-qualified allied healthcare job opportunities and maintain relationships with employer partners to ensure actionable pre- and post-interview feedback is captured to best assist graduates with getting hired. Identify trends in employer feedback to improve placement success rates.
  5. Documentation and Metrics Achievement: Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of graduate interactions, employer engagements, job orders, interview outcomes, and successful placements. Consistently meet or exceed departmental performance metrics, including call volume, interviews, hires, and monthly placement goals. Maintain detailed notes in the CRM system of record.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in business-to-business sales, business development, employment staffing, career services, or another related field.
  • Demonstrated strengths in results-driven performance, interpersonal communication, relationship building, and effective time management.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Any degree or equivalent experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in the above required skills/experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in business-to-business sales, business development, employment staffing, career services, or another related field.

 

Compliance: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.  
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department. 

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time remote position.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment, accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

In addition to the compensation listed below, this position is bonus eligible. 

Compensation Range

$22 - $22 USD
