Purpose of the Position:
As an Academic Services Coordinator, your primary role is to support students as their first point of contact for academic assistance. You’ll listen to their questions, provide relevant guidance, and connect them with appropriate resources. Whether it’s answering general academic queries or referring them to content-specific instructors, your goal is to ensure students receive the help they need. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with the broader Student Affairs team to enhance student success.
- Anticipated salary of $53,600-$58,000; based on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do:
- Student Support Facilitation: Assist students in mastering course content, improving study skills, and developing academic and professional abilities. Advise on matters related to academics, attendance, career readiness and
- Responsive Assistance: Address student needs promptly, adhering to established guidelines. Effectively communicates by email, telephone, virtual and face-to-face meetings with students, instructors, supervisors, and/or other school
- Content Familiarity: Acquire knowledge across various course topics to offer support and direction. Leverages documentation and technology to support students with understanding course content.
- Referral and Appointment Coordination: Direct students to instructor office hours or schedule appointments when specialized expertise is required.
- Positive Learning Environment: Foster a student-centered atmosphere by modeling online decorum and encouraging integrity. Builds student confidence through positive feedback, patience, and a friendly helpful demeanor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Skills – interpersonal skills, innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and work ethic.
- Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.
Preferred Requirements:
- Any advanced degree or equivalent experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in the above required skills/experience.
- Experience in the organization for which this role is available.
- Experience as an online instructor or secondary instructor.
- Experience as an online learner.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Other skills or abilities – organizational, data analysis, and understanding of guidelines and regulations in higher education.
Compliance:
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and, and internal policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This is a full-time remote position.
- Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
- May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
