Medical Assistant Program Director
UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

Purpose of the Position:
The Program Director oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned program, ensuring it aligns with the institution's mission and educational standards. This role is responsible for curriculum development, faculty coordination, and student support, fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment. The Program Director also engages with industry partners to ensure the program meets current professional standards and prepares students for successful careers in the field.
What You’ll Do:
- Program Design and Evaluation: Design, implement, and evaluate the assigned program to ensure it meets educational standards and aligns with the institution's mission.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update the curriculum to reflect current industry standards and best practices in the field.
- Faculty Management: Recruit, train, and supervise faculty members, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to deliver high-quality education.
- Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students, addressing their academic and professional development needs.
- Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure the program meets all accreditation requirements and complies with relevant regulations and standards.
- Industry Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with healthcare industry partners to ensure the program remains relevant and provides graduates with career opportunities.
- Program Assessment: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the program through regular evaluations and feedback from students, faculty, and industry partners.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support program goals.
- Professional Development: Stay current with trends in the program field and higher education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance program quality.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of wellness, recognition, and engagement. Meet regularly with direct reports in one-on-one and group settings to provide feedback and cultivate a positive work culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and academic preparation in the specific courses being taught.
- 15 semester credit hours in the subject field taught in the assigned program(s).
- Academic preparation in the specific courses taught.
- 3+ years’ occupational experience.
- An industry certification/licensure if consistent with employment in the field of instruction (all certifications/licensures must remain active and be maintained as required by State and/or accrediting commissions).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
Compliance:
- Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This is a full-time position.
- Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
- May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Compensation Range
$81,500 - $81,500 USD
