Technical Consultant, GovCon

Anywhere in the United States

The Technical Consultant supports customers and internal teams in implementing and maintaining Unanet Connect and other integration solutions. The role configures, tests, documents, and troubleshoots integrations using established patterns and guidance from senior technical resources, project managers, and solution architects to deliver reliable customer outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Configure and implement Unanet Connect integrations as standalone projects or as part of broader customer implementations, following documented standards and agreed requirements.
  • Assist with integration discovery and requirements gathering; document data flows, field mappings, dependencies, assumptions, and open questions for review.
  • Develop, test, and maintain integration workflows using applicable tools, including Workato, and REST APIs.
  • Troubleshoot integration and data-exchange issues; identify likely causes, document findings, communicate status, and escalate issues that require broader product, architecture, or engineering support.
  • Support existing and legacy integrations, including routine updates, testing, documentation, and customer issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, solution architects, customer success, sales, product, and technical services colleagues to keep work aligned with customer needs and project scope.
  • Maintain clear and timely customer and internal communications, including progress updates, risks, decisions needed, and follow-through on commitments.
  • Manage assigned work across multiple customer projects; raise capacity, schedule, scope, and dependency concerns promptly.
  • Create and maintain implementation notes, test evidence, configuration records, and customer-facing technical documentation.
  • Contribute feedback and reusable documentation that improve team delivery practices and customer experience.
  • Work toward Professional Services targets, including applicable budgeted delivered hours, realization, and utilization expectations.

 Your First 90 Days

  • First 30 Days:
    • Learn Unanet Connect, the integration delivery lifecycle, and the team’s documented standards, tools, and escalation paths.
    • Complete assigned onboarding and product learning; review representative integration workflows, customer documentation, and test evidence with a senior technical resource.
    • Shadow discovery, implementation, and troubleshooting activities to understand how requirements, data flows, field mappings, dependencies, and customer expectations are documented.
    • Get familiar with project coordination practices and Professional Services expectations for time reporting, communication, and managing assigned work.
  • First 60 Days:
    • Contribute to defined integration tasks with guidance, such as configuring or updating workflows, reviewing mappings, and preparing test cases.
    • Run tests, capture evidence, document results, and help investigate routine issues using established troubleshooting practices.
    • Participate in customer and internal discussions by providing clear status updates, documenting decisions and open questions, and following through on assigned actions.
    • Manage assigned tasks across project timelines, raising blockers, dependencies, scope questions, or capacity concerns promptly.
  • First 90 Days:
    • Deliver standard, well-scoped integration tasks with increasing independence, applying documented patterns and seeking review when requirements or technical approaches are unfamiliar.
    • Support routine integration troubleshooting and maintenance, clearly documenting findings, customer impact, next steps, and any escalation needed.
    • Maintain accurate implementation notes, configuration records, test evidence, and customer-facing technical documentation.
    • Demonstrate reliable coordination across assigned work, including proactive communication about progress, risks, dependencies, and commitments.
    • Identify a practical improvement or reusable documentation contribution that supports consistent delivery and a better customer experience.

 Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in technical consulting, software implementation, integration development, technical support, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of software integrations, data exchange, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Working familiarity with REST APIs, including requests, responses, authentication concepts, and interpreting common errors.
  • Ability to configure, test, and support integration workflows using established patterns and tools.
  • Ability to gather and clarify technical requirements, document work accurately, and identify assumptions or dependencies that need review.
  • Strong customer service, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize work across multiple projects, meet commitments, and communicate proactively when work is blocked or at risk.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, work independently on assigned tasks, and seek guidance on unfamiliar or complex issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in a customer-facing or service-delivery environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
