We need a high-energy, go-getter with a broad science and engineering knowledge to help our customers work through problems and create solutions using our automation products in their lab.

 

The Job

• Provide pre- and post-sales support for our workflow automation solutions
• Work hand-in-hand with the field and internal teams to provide big picture solutions
• Travel to some of the best global industry sites, explain how UL solutions can dramatically improve R&D, and save the day when applications issues occur!
• Location is Japan

 

Responsibilities

• Pre-sales support: Translate customer needs into novel automated workflow solutions
• Post-sales support: Install systems and help customers ramp-up to running their own experiments; troubleshoot and enhance customer workflows, including fine-tuning existing protocols (read: scripting and software)
• Provide remote support and guidance to customers working in a wide range of scientific fields
• Be a customer advocate, give us the real scoop about what’s going on, and help us improve
• Help us identify trends and solve tough recurring problems, applying data driven solutions to solve complex issues
• Overnight travel to customer sites up to 60%, primarily in Japan. Must be able to travel internationally

Qualifications

• Familiarity with automation hardware and software platforms, including ability to write and edit scripts for workflow control and data manipulation
• Credibility and ability to inspire confidence during technical discussions with senior researchers and managers
• Proven application and/or service support experience with lab automation equipment; familiarity with Unchained Labs / Freeslate / Symyx platforms is a plus; Unafraid of a lab environment!
• Ability to troubleshoot complex automation equipment and robotics in a biochemistry / chemistry lab environment
• Broad knowledge of a wide range of scientific topics (i.e. biologics, small molecule chemistry, polymers, petrochemicals)
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex ideas to both external customers and internal teams
• Comfort with a dynamic work environment and schedule, including working on multiple projects and application areas in a day and managing flexible travel plans
• Grittiness; find a way even when it looks like there isn’t one; bring energy; love what you do
• Bachelors of Science degree or higher in a technical field
• Native Japanese and Fluency in English required.

• 当社のワークフロー自動化ソリューションに関する、プリセールスおよびポストセールスサポート
• フィールドチームおよび社内チームと密接に連携し、全体最適のソリューションを提供
• 世界有数のグローバル企業を実際に訪問し、Unchained LabsのソリューションがいかにR&Dを大幅に改善できるかを説明し、アプリケーション上の問題が発生した際の解決策の提供

責任範囲

• プリセールスサポート:顧客ニーズを革新的な自動化ワークフローソリューションへと具体化し、提案する
• ポストセールスサポート: システムのインストレーション、および顧客が自ら実験を運用できるよう立ち上げ支援。顧客ワークフローのトラブルシューティングおよび改善（既存プロトコルの微調整を含む：スクリプト作成・編集およびソフトウェア対応）
• 多様な科学分野の顧客に対するリモートサポートの提供と技術支援およびガイダンスの提供
• 顧客の立場に立って行動し、現場の実情を社内に共有するとともに、製品・サービスの改善に貢献
• トレンドの見極めおよび繰り返し発生する問題の解決、データ駆動アプローチで複雑な問題に対処
• 日本を中心に最大60％の宿泊出張。海外出張が可能であること

 

応募資格

• 自動化ハードウェアおよびソフトウェアプラットフォームに精通していること（ワークフロー制御およびデータ操作用のスクリプトの作成と編集能力を含む）
• 上級研究者やマネージャーとの技術的な議論において、相手に信頼感を与え、信頼を得られる能力
• ラボ自動化機器に関するアプリケーションおよび/またはサービスサポートの経験（Unchained Labs / Freeslate / Symyxプラットフォームの知識があれば尚可）
• 生化学/化学ラボ環境における複雑な自動化機器およびロボットのトラブルシューティング能力
• 様々な科学分野（例：生物製剤、低分子化学、ポリマー、石油化学）に関する幅広い知識
• 優れたコミュニケーション能力（社外の顧客と社内チームの両方に複雑なアイデアを説明できること）
• ダイナミックな職場環境とスケジュールに対応できること（1日に複数のプロジェクトやアプリケーション分野に携わり、柔軟な出張プランを管理できること）
• 粘り強さ（道がないように思えても道を見つける力、エネルギーをもたらす力）自分の仕事に情熱を注げる方
• 理工系分野における学士号以上
• 日本語ネイティブで英語が堪能な方
