Associate Buyer – Art
You’ve got an eye for what stops people in their tracks—and the drive to make it sell.
At Uncommon Goods, we’re not just selling products—we’re telling stories. The Buying team curates the bold, the beautiful, and the totally unexpected. Think prints, wall art, handmade pieces, and illustrations that speak to something—humor, nostalgia, activism, wonder.
We’re looking for an Associate Buyer to help us source and scale art that resonates with our customers. You’ll support our Senior Buyer but also bring your own instincts, taste, and hustle to the table. This is a role for someone who can spot a great piece and run the backend to get it online and in front of customers.
This hybrid role works on-site at our waterfront Brooklyn location one to two days a week.
What You’ll Do:
- Scout independent artists, illustrators, and creative partners whose work aligns with our brand.
- Assist in vendor outreach, negotiations, and onboarding.
- Manage item set-up, product data, pricing, and inventory planning.
- Partner with Creative and Site Merch to build collections and campaigns.
- Track performance and help identify what's working (and what’s not).
You’ll Thrive Here If You:
- Have 2-3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or product ops—especially in art, print, or gift categories.
- Are passionate about design, aesthetics, and emerging creative talent.
- Can live in both worlds—trend-driven and spreadsheet-ready.
- Love working cross-functionally and juggling multiple launches at once.
- Are detail-obsessed and proactive—someone who sees problems before they happen.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience working with artists or creatives (agencies, galleries, indie brands).
- Familiarity with NetSuite, JOOR, or similar inventory systems.
- A point of view. We love a buyer with taste and backbone.
Why Join Now?
The Art category is full of creative opportunities, and we’re always exploring new ways to tell stories through product. If you’re ready to grow your buying career in a role that blends taste, trend, and thoughtful curation—this is your chance.
