Customer Success & Deployment Leader

Sunnyvale, CA

About Noble Machines

Noble Machines builds multipurpose robots to support human workers in the world's toughest jobs—turning dangerous work from a necessity into a choice. Our work demands reliability, robustness, and readiness for the unexpected—on time, every time. We're assembling a mission-driven team focused on delivering real impact in heavy industry, from construction and mining to energy. If you're driven to build rugged, reliable products that solve real-world problems, we'd love to talk.

Position Overview

We're looking for an exceptional Customer Success & Deployment Leader to build and lead the organization that takes Noble Machines' general-purpose robots from signed contract to dependable, everyday operation at customer sites. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role: you'll own customer outcomes from the first pilot through fleet scale-up, renewal, and expansion, and you'll be the bridge between our customers and Noble Machines' engineering, autonomy, product, and service teams. You'll make sure our robots show up ready for the realities of construction, mining, and energy sites - and that they keep delivering value long after they arrive.

Responsibilities

  • Build the organization. Build and lead a team of deployment program managers, field and application engineers, and customer success managers, scaling the team and its leadership as Noble Machines grows.
  • Own deployments end-to-end. Take full ownership from site assessment and task scoping through validation in Sunnyvale, on-site integration, commissioning, and hand-off to steady-state operations.
  • Set deployment readiness standards. Define the safety, reliability, uptime, and performance criteria a robot must meet before it goes to a customer site—including readiness for dust, vibration, temperature extremes, and the unpredictable conditions of heavy-industry work.
  • Run a repeatable playbook. Standardize how Noble Machines deploys: pilot-to-production gates, simulation and test validation, integration with customer site operations and safety programs, and change management and training for frontline crews working alongside our robots.
  • Deliver and prove value. Track and report robot uptime, task throughput, time-to-productivity, intervention rate, hazardous-exposure hours removed from workers, customer satisfaction, and net revenue retention.
  • Close the loop with engineering. Channel field data, failure modes, and customer requirements back to Noble Machines' engineering and product teams to shape the roadmap and improve reliability in the field.
  • Manage executive relationships. Serve as the senior point of contact for customers' operations, safety, and site leadership; lead executive business reviews and own escalations.
  • Work with partners. Coordinate with contractors, site operators, integrators, and service partners to keep deployments on schedule and on spec.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in customer success, professional services, field engineering, or deployment leadership, with at least 5 years in robotics, industrial automation, autonomous systems, or complex hardware-plus-software products.
  • Proven experience moving robotic or autonomous hardware out of R&D and into commercial production at external customer sites.
  • Experience building and leading distributed, field-based teams.
  • Working knowledge of robot autonomy, simulation and sim-to-real validation, and industrial safety standards (e.g., ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ANSI/A3 R15.06).
  • Strong commercial sense, including renewals, expansion, services pricing, and deployment P&L.
  • Executive presence and credibility with senior customer leaders, from site superintendents to the C-suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites, including active construction, mining, and energy job sites.

Nice to Have

  • Direct experience deploying robots or autonomous equipment in construction, mining, energy, or other heavy-industry environments.
  • Background in engineering or computer science; an MBA is a plus.
  • Familiarity with jobsite safety programs and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, MSHA).
  • Experience scaling a customer-facing organization at an early-stage hardware company.
