This is a hands-on craft role for an applicator who knows how to read a scope of work, operate and repair a rig, and lay down material that passes inspection the first time. The right candidate is meticulous about prep, deliberate about spray technique, and uncompromising on safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply spray polyurethane foam and elastomeric/industrial coatings to manufacturer specification on commercial and industrial roofing projects.
  • Prep substrates for application including cleaning, priming, masking, and addressing penetrations, flashings, and transitions.
  • Operate and maintain spray rigs, proportioners, hoses, and spray guns; perform daily equipment checks and troubleshoot common issues in the field.
  • Follow all PPE, respirator, and confined-space safety protocols and complete a JHA on every job, with zero tolerance for shortcuts.
  • Document each job with substrate prep notes, batch numbers, mil thickness readings, weather conditions, and photos, submitted by end of workday.
  • Coordinate with the operations manager to manage material usage, hit production targets, and keep jobs on budget.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience applying spray polyurethane foam (SPF) and elastomeric/industrial coatings on commercial or industrial roofing projects.
  • Working knowledge of major SPF and coating manufacturers (e.g., NCFI, BASF, Carlisle/Henry, Gaco, Versaflex, or similar) and their application specifications.
  • Proficient operating high-pressure plural-component spray equipment and proportioners (e.g., Graco Reactor, PMC, or similar).
  • Experience leading or training a junior applicator or helper.
  • Ability to read and interpret mil thickness readings, density checks, and manufacturer data sheets.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards including fall protection, respiratory protection, and confined-space entry.
  • Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • SPFA certification (Roofing Installer or higher) or equivalent manufacturer training.
  • Experience on industrial substrates including metal decking, concrete, and built-up roof recover applications.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly (drums, hoses, equipment).
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and remain on feet for extended periods on commercial and industrial roof systems.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator and PPE for extended periods during spray operations.
  • Comfort working in elevated spaces and around plural-component chemicals.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
