Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Automation

About the role: 

 

We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to lead the adoption of modern QA practices and ensure the delivery of high-quality digital products at Unison. In this role, you will define automation strategy, mentor teammates, and collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to drive quality across web, API, and CRM platforms. You will transform manual testing into scalable automated suites, champion best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and proven experience driving QA excellence in fast-paced, Agile environments.

 

This is a hybrid position with the requirement of 3 full days in our Omaha, NE office. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute an automation-first QA strategy using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium.
  • Build, maintain, and scale automated test suites for web applications, APIs, and CRM (Salesforce).
  • Transform scripted manual testing into fully automated, reliable, and repeatable test processes.
  • Lead and mentor QA team members, fostering Agile/Lean/XP/Scrum best practices.
  • Partner with engineers to design testable applications and services.
  • Drive functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve complex issues while driving continuous improvement.

 

About you: 

  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (JavaScript, C#, Python) for building automated tests.
  • Proven leadership experience championing QA across web, API, and SaaS integrations.
  • Hands-on expertise with modern automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, etc.).
  • Strong background in Agile/Lean/XP/Scrum environments.
  • Experience testing APIs (REST/XML) and Salesforce integrations.
  • Expertise designing, developing, and executing automated tests for Salesforce applications, including custom Apex and Lightning components.
  • Familiarity with test management tools like Jira and TestRail.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.
    • It’s a bonus if: 
      • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.).
      • Prior experience in fintech, mortgage, or other regulated financial services.
      • Experience with performance/load testing tools and security testing basics.
