Role Profile: 

As Senior Associate, Business Development, you will be helping develop and deliver the Americas strategy to maximize client acquisition. You will be a strategic and tactical leader, optimizing the work of your team and elevating Unispace’ s brand in New York. 

The ideal Client Engagement professional has a positive, glass half full kind of personality – they don’t take ‘no’ for an answer unless ‘no’ is the answer.  They have the ability to articulate our unique product that we’re selling; they need to understand we’re not selling a different kind of ergonomic chair – we’re selling a new way to sit.  With the prospective client, they should always be curious and ask questions; talk less and listen more.  They can work collaboratively with the discipline leads and can frame client explicit and implicit needs so the team can react effectively and efficiently. They have the ability to maintain, foster and grow many CRE relationships, while maintaining focus on the key industry marketing efforts that will help drive opportunities that we know Unispace can win.

Responsibilities: 

Your primary responsibilities will involve business development and client acquisition. The key elements of the role involve the following: 

  • Development and execution of the local Client Engagement strategy 
  • Developing multi-discipline relationships across the market to achieve a high level of sales pipeline 
  • Undertaking lead source analysis and driving lead management 
  • Mapping and managing local client strategies and relationships around focus areas 
  • Attracting target clients utilizing fresh and innovative approaches 
  • Undertaking 80/20 conversion analysis to support local business planning 
  • Implementing strategies around research projects and events 
  • Developing and implementing local risk management plan in collaboration with RPBD, ensuring appropriate action is taken when risks arise e.g. Legal, reputational and financial risks 
  • Implementing and supporting Corporate Social Responsibility program 
  • Collaborating across disciplines, regions and within studios to identify opportunities and drive for continual improvement 
  • Drive Client Engagement methodology, standards/practices, processes and technology solutions within the Studio to enhance the capability and effectiveness of the organization 

Key Measures: 

  • Strategy development that will result in high sales conversion rate with target clients   
  • Strategy deployed is effective for the needs of the local market  
  • Demonstrated success at supporting and driving cross regional client opportunities 
  • Business development initiatives reflect an alignment to the Unispace brand 
  • Implementation of effective research projects and events 
  • Local risk management plan implemented with evidence of appropriate action taken 
  • Consistency of standards, technology solutions and process across the region to achieve global brand capability, drive best practices and achieve efficiencies 

Experience and Skills Required: 

  • Experience in client facing relationship management and lead management 
  • Experience in utilizing cold calling techniques as a method to build relationships with potential leads 
  • Understanding of how to develop and nurture a team 
  • Extensive local market and industry knowledge 
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen 
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills 
  • Resilience and organization agility 
  • Client-oriented and results driven 

Base Salary $115,000 - $135,000/yr + Variable Compensation 

  • Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location
