Role Profile:

As an Associate, Design, you will be a key contributor to Unispace's design projects in the Malaysian market. You will work as part of a collaborative design team, supporting the conceptualization, development, and delivery of innovative workplace solutions across various sectors. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual eager to develop their skills and grow within a fast-paced, integrated design and build environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior designers in all phases of the design process, from initial client brief to final project handover.

  • Support the conceptualization and development of design solutions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Unispace's design principles.

  • Prepare and refine design documentation, including space plans, elevations, sections, and details using relevant software.

  • Contribute to the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E), and finishes.

  • Conduct research on materials, trends, and suppliers to inform design decisions.

  • Assist in the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and other visual materials for client engagements.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including strategists, project managers, and construction managers, to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Participate in site visits and inspections to support the design implementation and quality control.

  • Maintain accurate project files and design libraries.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in workplace design within the Malaysian context.


About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.

  • [Insert Number, e.g., 1-3] years of experience in interior design, preferably with some exposure to commercial or workplace projects.

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Enscape/Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

  • Strong graphic and visual communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Basic understanding of space planning principles and workplace functionality.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and a passion for design and innovation.

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or other regional languages is a plus.
