Role Profile

As a Senior Utilities Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering innovative utility solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for leading and managing complex utility projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving efficiency and sustainability. You will work closely with a team of talented engineers, architects, and construction professionals to deliver exceptional results. This is a long-term opportunity with a Tier-1 Pharmaceutical client, with significant site investment ongoing, with works expected to be ongoing for 2-3 years.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Leading and managing complex utility projects, from feasibility studies to final construction
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive utility design solutions, including water supply, wastewater treatment, electrical power distribution, and HVAC systems
  • Upgrading current Processes and aging site assets.
  • Managing large site projects with CAPEX values in excess of €100 million.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards
  • Conducting site assessments and evaluations
  • Preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
  • Overseeing construction activities and quality control
  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
  • Working with A&E Design houses, as well as equipment vendors, on scoping projects and reviewing specifications.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Utilities Engineer with a proven track record of success in the field. You should have a strong understanding of utility systems and design principles, as well as excellent project management and communication skills.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in utility engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading and managing complex utility projects
  • Strong knowledge of utility design standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What we offer

In return, we are able to offer very competitive rates and a minimum of a 12-month engagement. This role will be on-site with the client 5 days per week in Athlone, so you will need to be located within a commutable distance.
