Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Building Services Engineer to join our growing Unispace Life Sciences team. This role is based out of our Center of Excellence in Mahon, Cork. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, specification, and implementation of mechanical and electrical building services for life sciences projects.
  • Oversee technical design aspects, ensuring all systems align with project requirements, regulations, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated and efficient building services.
  • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines for assigned projects to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections and coordinate with contractors to ensure work adheres to design intent and quality standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on the integration of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in building services.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, technical reports, and presentations for client engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and innovations, applying them to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in building services engineering, preferably within the life sciences sector.
  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of building services for pharmaceutical or biotech facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of life sciences regulations, cleanroom environments, and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools, along with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to sustainability and innovative solutions in building services engineering.
