Senior Product Counsel

We are seeking a product counsel to work closely with business and engineering teams in navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. The ideal candidate will have experience working on regulatory issues, preferably within financial regulation, securities, or derivatives sectors. Preferably, the candidate has a strong understanding or a keen interest in crypto and DeFi.
We are headquartered in SoHo, New York City, and this role can be partially or fully remote.
Responsibilities:
- Provide risk-principled legal, regulatory, and strategic advice to business and engineering teams across a product lifecycle
- Advise business and marketing teams on how to successfully navigate complex and legal regulatory environments both domestically and internationally
- Develop and implement various legal processes, policies, and playbooks, including compliance policies and procedures
- Track regulatory developments and conduct legal research on current rules and regulations
- Collaborate collegially and supportively with other members of the legal team. Mentor others on the Legal & Policy team.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of law firm or in-house experience
- JD degree (or foreign equivalent) with good standing in at least one US state bar
- Strong financial regulatory background or experience counseling crypto clients
- Familiar with financial services regulation and agencies (e.g., FinCEN, SEC, CFTC) and how they apply to financial products in both the U.S. and abroad
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; establishes and maintains strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders
- Highly organized and proactive; capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Nice to Haves:
- Deep understanding of crypto and blockchain technology
- Understanding of how different regulations or proposed rules can apply to crypto products (e.g., broker-dealer, exchange, derivatives)
- Experience at an AM Law 100 corporate law firm and/or at companies in the technology and/or emerging company space
Minimum full-time salary of $225,000 - $250,000. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law. Full Time employees at Uniswap Labs are also eligible for other compensation elements, including equity, tokens, and benefits, dependent on the position type.
