Role Overview 

We are seeking a Lead Developer to support Rimo’s growing engineering function. This role will serve as both a hands-on technical leader and a mentor to other developers, ensuring high-quality code, scalable architecture, and strong engineering practices. The individual will play a critical role in building, reviewing, and guiding development efforts while collaborating cross-functionally to drive product delivery. 

Key Responsibilities 

- Lead development efforts across frontend and backend systems 
- Architect and build scalable applications using modern frameworks 
- Review code, enforce best practices, and maintain high coding standards 
- Mentor and support junior developers and contribute to team growth 
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions 
- Optimize application performance, including SSR and frontend efficiency 
- Ensure clean, maintainable, and well-documented codebases 
- Support deployment processes and production stability 
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows and standards 

Required Qualifications 

- 3+ years of professional software development experience 
- Strong experience with Next.js and TypeScript 
- Excellent communication skills with ability to lead and guide team members 
- Proven experience in a lead or senior developer capacity 

Technical Skills 

- Proficiency in React and modern frontend development practices 
- Strong experience with Node.js and backend API development 
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs or tRPC 
- Experience with PostgreSQL 
- Experience using Prisma or Drizzle ORM 
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitHub or GitLab) 
- Experience implementing authentication systems (OAuth, JWT, session-based auth) 
- Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR) and performance optimization 
- Experience deploying applications on Vercel 
- Ability to conduct code reviews and mentor developers 

Preferred Qualifications 

- Experience with Docker or containerization 
- Experience working in high-growth or startup environments 
- Strong system design and architecture experience 

Working Hours 

Full-time role aligned to U.S. Eastern Time (EST) business hours with availability for team collaboration and meetings during EST.
