Senior Business Systems Analyst

Location: Scotts Valley, CA (Hybrid) - We are also open to candidate located in the pacific time zone.  

At Universal Audio, you will serve a crucial role in the Business Applications team by supporting major digital transformation initiatives and driving operational excellence throughout the organization. Your analytical skills and ability to connect big picture goals to detailed business and technical requirements will play a significant role in positioning Universal Audio for continued growth as a leader in the music products industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external/internal customers and stakeholders to analyze information and business needs to deliver functional and technical requirements to applications development teams.
  • Deliver solutions that successfully translate desired business outcomes.
  • Identify business process best practices and work with key stakeholders to deliver process improvements.
  • Conduct prototypes, develop functional specifications and data mapping in Netsuite and integrated 3rd party applications
  • Lead test plan development, execution and UAT/demo coordination
  • Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, use cases, data, and workflow analysis.
  • Deconstruct high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Investigate processes and performs root cause analysis for incidents and problems.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Retrieve and analyze data from multiple sources to create reports and present them for use by the business functions. Provide primary support for daily reporting and respond to ad hoc informational requests
  • Assist with system configuration - fields, workflows, roles/permissions, rules, reports, and dashboards.
  • Act as the liaison between the business functions and technology teams.
  • Support IT compliance requirements, such as SOX, information security, GDPR and others.
  • Train the IT team & business users as needed on any new features/functionality being introduced
  • Resolving product issues by opening, updating, and escalating service tickets with product vendors
  • Proficiency in using AI tools, such as Claude or ChatGPT, would be a significant plus

 

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly collaborative individual with the ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work under limited direction with a moderate degree of maturity, discretion, and judgment.
  • Exposure to working with SLA’s, Change Control processes, and project tracking systems such as Jira.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years Business Analyst experience
  • 5+ years experience supporting accounting operations in manufacturing and software subscriptions domains
  • Hands-on Experience in leading SaaS / Cloud solutions such as NetSuite, Avalara, Shopify, BOOMI etc.
  • Strong blend of business sense and process knowledge: You evaluate things holistically and think through the objectives, impacts, best practices, and what will be simple and scalable
  • Multi-tasking prioritization expertise; Experience (and preferably an enjoyment of) balancing numerous different priorities and demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization and interact with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with an Onsite / Offshore model is preferred
  • Well-versed with tools/systems/processes to comply with various regulations and governance such as SOX
  • Proven experience in implementing / using AI agents to solve complex problems

UA Salary Range of Pay:  $160,000 - $180,000

Base salary/hourly rate of pay will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.
