About the role
The Title Curative Specialist is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day title report curative efforts. The Title Services Curative Specialist position is the subject matter expert in all aspects of clearing title issues that prevent transactions from obtaining clear to close status. Additionally assists the managers in leading the teams in production and knowledge of procedures and systems. Handles escalated and difficult orders. The Title Curative Specialist is responsible for reviewing title documents and conducting title searches to identify any potential defects or issues. Working with attorneys, lenders, and other parties to resolve title problems. Obtaining missing or corrected documents necessary for clearing title issues.
What you'll do
- Serves as the subject matter expert for Title Services handling escalated and high priority orders
- Work with attorneys, lenders and other parties to resolve title problems
- Obtain missing or corrected documents necessary for clearing title issues
- Identify title defects and work to resolve the issue quickly and appropriately for the client and product
- Work with vendors to complete work timely and accurately and recognize when to escalate an issue to management
What we're looking for
- HS Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of industry or related business experience.
- Strong knowledge of title insurance policies, title commitments and title curative process.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and identify potential title defects.
- Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience within the real estate industry and/or vendor management service company preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (including Pivot/VLOOKUP/Macros) preferred.
- Familiarity with industry software and tools for title research and curative process is preferred.

$55,000 base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
