Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager, Operations to be UNREAL’s go-to expert on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis. In this critical role you will provide deep financial insights into product costs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Accounting to drive strategic decision-making, cost reduction initiatives, and to support budgeting and project planning. Additionally, you will assist new product innovation by evaluating financial implications and optimizing sourcing strategies. This is a high-impact role that requires analytical rigor, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively to executive leadership.

The Finance Manager, Operations will be a vital member of the UNREAL Finance team and report to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis. 

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on COGS and Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to analyze cost structures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve financial models related to supply chain costs, raw materials, and manufacturing expenses.
  • Provide financial guidance and scenario analysis for new product innovation, working with product innovation and operations to evaluate feasibility and cost impact.
  • Support monthly financial reporting and forecasting for supply chain-related expenses, ensuring executive leadership has clear insights for decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier pricing, commodity fluctuations, and operational efficiencies to proactively manage cost risks.
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with cost accounting standards.
  • Lead ad hoc financial projects focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.

 Who You Are

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a financial analysis role with a strong background in CPG supply chain finance, cost accounting, new item modeling, and BOM analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including experience with ERP systems and cost analysis tools. Prior NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Ability to break down complex cost structures, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work seamlessly across operations, procurement, R&D, and finance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering accurate and timely analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Passionate about working for a mission-driven company that prioritizes quality and innovation in the food and CPG industry.

 

The base compensation range for this position is between $110,000 - $130,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a 15% bonus. The salary range listed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Individual compensation is determined by additional factors, including role-related experience and relevant education and certifications. Bonus payout is pro-rated to start date. Employees must be employed by September 30 of the calendar year to be eligible for bonus for that calendar year.
