About Unreal

We're on a mission to unjunk the world, starting with our favorite food group: CHOCOLATE.

Our story began when two kids who loved candy got tired of being told they couldn't eat it. All their favorites were filled with artificial ingredients, excess sugar, and stuff they couldn't pronounce. Why did something that tasted so good have to be so bad for them? OR DID IT?

That question inspired our mission: to unjunk the world. Unreal was born, and it sparked a ripple of change. With real, simple ingredients, no artificial anything, way less sugar, and unbelievable taste, those kids proved that better was possible (and, well, better).

Today, we're shaking up an old-school industry, winning over a devoted fanbase, and showing up on more and more shelves every day.

Job Summary

We’re looking for an organized, versatile, and driven Copywriter to sharpen and evolve Unreal's bold, clever, vibrant, and candid brand expression. Reporting to the Director of Brand Voice, you’ll own copy creation across email, social, and paid channels, and support strategic content development for 360° copywriting campaigns across all marketing channels. Collaborating closely with team members across Unreal’s Commercial team, you’ll manage the development of concise, clever, on-brand copy ranging from big-picture creative concepts to small-scale, detailed assets.

The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with 5+ years of copywriting experience for CPG brands. A collaborative, low-ego team player, you’re energized by collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring creative concepts to life. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, and are motivated by the opportunity to manage the creation of concise, on-brand copy that reflects a unique brand voice.

The Copywriter will be a vital member of the Unreal Brand & Creative Development team and report to the Director of Brand Voice.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead copy development for various marketing channels, including email, social, paid media, retail, and merch.
  • Translate Unreal's brand expression into compelling storytelling that aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with target audience(s).
  • Bring a sense of cleverness, fun, and humor into Unreal’s marketing assets.
  • Support strategic content development in partnership with the Director of Brand Voice for cross-functional teams, including social, PR, and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, external agencies, and freelancers to bring creative concepts to life.
  • Independently manage workload, balancing multiple projects and deadlines at once, using Asana to track progress and keep deliverables on schedule.
  • Contribute fresh ideas to help evolve Unreal's brand presence.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years experience copywriting for a CPG brand(s) with a strong, definable tone of voice; food and beverage experience is a plus.
  • Able to consistently produce exciting, on-brand copy that effectively and succinctly communicates key product attributes.
  • Exhibits drive and self-starting spirit to work proactively and problem-solve, bringing solutions to leaders and peers rather than just identifying gaps.
  • Displays a sharp mind for developing ideas for both small-scale detailed assets as well as big-picture creative concepts.
  • Energized by collaborating with cross-functional team members and approaches the creative process with humility.
  • Applies strategic thinking to content creation and planning.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated self-sufficiency in managing varied workloads and timelines.
  • Comfortable using project management tools like Asana to stay organized and aligned.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
