Senior Supervisor Production - Motor

Orlando, FL

Unusual Machines is a U.S.-based drone and drone parts company focused on the small and First-Person View (FPV) segments of the drone market. Our brands - Rotor Riot, Fat Shark, Rotor Lab and - coming soon - Upgrade Energy - are some of the most respected names in FPV and have helped shape the industry through e-commerce, product development, and a deep connection with the pilot community.

We’re expanding into enterprise and defense - bringing our obsessive attention to performance, design, and U.S.-based manufacturing into high-stakes environments like search and rescue and military innovation. With several of our products already approved by the Defense Innovation Unit, we’re solving procurement issues for customers who demand speed, agility, and compliance.

If you love working at the intersection of community, content, and cutting-edge technology, you’ll feel right at home here.

You in This Role

In this role, you’ll oversee multiple production teams responsible for the assembly, inspection, testing, and preparation of drone motors, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to manufacturing standards. You’ll lead and develop frontline supervisors, establish operational consistency across teams, and serve as the primary escalation point for production, quality, safety, and workflow challenges.

This role requires a strong manufacturing leader who can develop other leaders, drive accountability, and translate production goals into measurable results. You’ll be responsible for ensuring supervisors have the tools, training, and direction needed to lead their teams effectively while maintaining high standards for precision, craftsmanship, and operational performance.

If you’re passionate about coaching leaders, improving manufacturing processes, and delivering mission-critical quality, you’ll thrive here. This is an opportunity to help scale a growing U.S.-based manufacturing operation and ensure our drone motor assemblies meet the performance, reliability, and quality standards required for real-world drone operations.

The ideal candidate must possess the scheduling flexibility to dynamically allocate their time where business demands and team support are most critical
  • Drive accountability and performance by establishing clear expectations, monitoring results, and holding supervisors responsible for team productivity, quality, safety, and execution.
  • Manage production performance across teams to ensure schedules, output targets, and delivery commitments are consistently achieved without compromising quality.
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and development plans that strengthen supervisory effectiveness and team engagement.
  • Establish consistent operating standards by ensuring supervisors enforce standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing throughput, reducing defects and rework, improving workflow, and optimizing labor utilization.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex production, quality, safety, staffing, and operational issues, coordinating appropriate resources to resolve problems.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to address production constraints, resolve recurring issues, and improve manufacturing readiness.
  • Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, first-pass yield, defect rates, rework, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement by reinforcing accountability, process discipline, and consistent execution at every level of the organization.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years Supervisor experience in manufacturing, production operations, electronics assembly, or a comparable technical environment.
  • Experience leading supervisors, team leads, or multiple production teams, with the ability to manage performance through other leaders.
