SEO Manager - DTC

Unybrands acquires e-commerce businesses that sell both on and off Amazon. Once acquired, these brands are integrated into Unybrands' platform, where operations are optimized, business performance is enhanced, and expansion into new product lines and markets is driven. Currently we have acquired 30 brands including Pet Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Supplements, Baby & Juvenile, Garden & Outdoor, Sports & Fitness, and Home, Lifestyle Culinary & Arts. Through expert management and robust infrastructure, Unybrands empowers e-commerce brands to scale and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement the SEO roadmap aligned with business objectives to drive organic traffic, improve search rankings, and maximize visibility.
  • Oversee on-page SEO, including keyword research, content optimization, and technical SEO elements to ensure optimal website performance.
  • Work with the content team to develop SEO-optimized blog posts, landing pages, and product descriptions to boost organic search presence.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to execute technical SEO strategies, including site speed improvements, mobile optimization, and schema markup.
  • Optimize and manage backlink strategy to enhance domain authority and drive referral traffic.
  • Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates and evolving SEO trends to keep the brand competitive in search rankings.

Performance Marketing & Data-Driven Optimization

  • Conduct regular audits of the website and landing pages to identify SEO issues and recommend fixes.
  • Use analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to monitor SEO performance, track key metrics (organic traffic, rankings, CTR), and provide data-driven insights.
  • Work closely with the growth marketing team to analyze SEO KPIs and suggest ways to optimize campaigns.
  • Lead the development and execution of A/B tests to improve SEO-driven landing page performance and conversion rates.
  • Analyze competitor SEO strategies to identify opportunities for improvement and differentiation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the content, design, and product teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all stages of content creation, product development, and web design.
  • Work with the paid media team to align organic SEO strategies with paid campaigns, ensuring a unified approach to overall growth.
  • Ensure SEO strategy is aligned with business goals, revenue targets, and long-term growth initiatives.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Provide guidance to junior team members and collaborate across departments to ensure SEO initiatives are executed effectively and in alignment with overall marketing strategies.
  • Train and educate team members and stakeholders on SEO best practices and the importance of SEO in driving growth.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Regularly report SEO performance to leadership, providing insights into organic traffic growth, keyword rankings, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop dashboards and use reporting tools to track SEO performance and provide actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of SEO experience with a proven track record of driving organic growth in a DTC e-commerce environment.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge (site audits, page speed optimization, mobile optimization, and schema markup).
  • Expert knowledge of SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and similar platforms.
  • Proven experience in keyword research and content strategy for driving organic search traffic and improving rankings.
  • Strong understanding of SEO analytics and KPIs, including organic traffic, keyword rankings, backlinks, and conversion optimization.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce) and CMS (Content Management Systems).
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear reporting and recommendations.
  • Experience with A/B testing, CRO, and landing page optimization.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and familiarity with web development practices to implement SEO strategies effectively.
