Quality Engineer

Job purpose
To support the Quality and Compliance Manager in managing pre- shipment inspections, ensuring they have been conducted accordingly and to work with supplier/factory on quality or manufacturing improvements and corrective action plans.
Work with the relevant UK based brand teams to ensure that customer complaints and high returning products are followed up with the supplier/factory and agree practical action plans in order to mitigate risk and reduce quality returns rates.
Support product compliance team in obtaining product test reports / regulatory documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
· Work with NPD teams in order to develop product specifications on new products.
· Ensure factories/suppliers fully understand the product specification details.
· Communicate product specifications to 3rd party pre-shipment inspectors, ensuring full awareness of the product standards.
· Coordinate with the 3rd party inspectors to develop a robust AQL, ensuring all requirements are met and are relevant to the product type.
· Regularly audit the 3rd party inspection reports to determine consistent implementation from external inspectors.
· Support unybrands compliance team on obtaining product compliance documentation by coordinating with the factory and the testing laboratories.
· Coordinate with external testing laboratories to ensure the correct test standards have been applied and packaging + labelling is fully compliant.
· Follow up on any Customer Services queries or negative customer reviews.
· Investigate any brand requests regarding poor manufacturing or non-compliance with the supplier/factory.
Competency Requirements
· Degree in quality, industrial, mechanical engineering, or relevant field.
· 5+ years of hands-on experience with manufacturing process control , quality system and quality control methodology.
· Experience in working with UK, EU and US retail and ecommerce marketplaces.
· Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications
· Must have experience in Toys specifically - Home and Outdoor knowledge would be useful.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
· Proficient in MS Office
· Good written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
