About the Role: 

We're looking for a Fraud Monitoring Analyst that will be responsible for monitoring, identifying and investigating suspicious transactions. The Fraud Monitoring Analyst will also provide feedback to data teams regarding rule development as well develop processes and best practices. They will play an integral role in assisting with the growth and development of the team and improving processes and procedures. This role will be based in our San Francisco office. 

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Conduct thorough investigations on suspicious transactions, including generated alerts generated by detected systems, by utilizing internal data and open-source research tools to detect fraudulent activity.
  • Monitor loss prevention controls (reports and other functions) to minimize losses and assist with the development of these controls
  • Comprehend the risks associated with AML and fraud typologies that are presented by Upgrade’s product offerings and services, including lending and deposit products
  • Recognize and escalate potentially suspicious trends for further review.
  • Assist the Fraud Monitoring Manager with additional tasks and/or service level agreements to support the Fraud Investigations and Operations Department and its business partners
  • Conduct second reviews evaluations on FRIO tickets to ensure quality and consistency in fraud decisioning
  • Meet individual key performance indicators (KPIs) including accuracy and productivity


What We Look For:

  • 2-3 years of BSA/AML, Investigations, or Fraud related experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced, multi-task environment, and be team oriented
  • Proficiency in SQL


Nice to Have:

  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • CAMS, CFE, Zendesk and/or CGSS preferred
  • Prior experience in FinTech or start-up environment

The compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is USD $70,000-$85,000 annually plus equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
