Position Overview
Uprite Construction is looking for a forward‑thinking Agentic AI Engineer to design, code, and deploy AI‑driven “agent” workflows that streamline our internal processes—from estimating and bid‑leveling to project scheduling, A/P review, and SOP compliance. You’ll be the in‑house specialist who turns manual, error‑prone steps into self‑directed, monitored automations that deliver real‑time insights and measurable productivity gains.
Key Responsibilities
Area |
What You’ll Do |
Agent Architecture & Design |
• Map business processes and identify tasks suited to autonomous agents.• Define agent objectives, memory structures, tool‑use strategies, and safety/rollback logic.• Select the right LLMs, vector DBs, orchestration frameworks (e.g., UiPath, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI), and RPA or API integrations. |
Solution Development |
• Write clean, well‑documented Python/TypeScript to implement agent logic, function calling, evaluations, and guards.• Connect agents to internal data sources (SharePoint, network drives, CMIC, Raken, ERP, etc.) via APIs or secure connectors.• Build monitoring dashboards and alerting for agent performance, drift, and exceptions. |
Process Automation & Integration |
• Collaborate with SMEs in Estimating, Accounting, Field Ops, and Safety to convert SOPs into automated workflows.• Integrate agents with existing RPA bots, workflow engines (Zapier, Workato, Power Automate), and BI tools. |
Governance & Security |
• Implement role‑based access, data‑loss prevention, and audit trails.• Establish evaluation pipelines (unit, integration, red‑teaming) to ensure agents stay within policy and produce reliable outputs. |
Change Management |
• Document solutions, run internal workshops, and coach end‑users on prompt design and oversight responsibilities.• Provide Tier‑3 support and continuous improvement for deployed automations. |
Required Qualifications
- Education — BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or similar.
- Experience — 1 + years building production software; 1 + year working with LLMs or conversational AI systems.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python (preferred) or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Hands‑on with at least one agent framework (LangChain Agents, OpenAI Function‑Calling + Task/Tool patterns, UiPath, Claude MCP, AutoGen, CrewAI, etc.).
- Familiarity with RPA tools (UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, or equivalent).
- Experience calling REST/GraphQL APIs, handling webhooks, and managing cloud resources (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma) and retrieval‑augmented generation.
- Solid understanding of software best practices: version control (Git), CI/CD, testing, and secure coding.
- Soft Skills
- Strong process‑mapping and requirements‑gathering abilities.
- Clear communicator who can translate AI concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Bias toward experimentation, rapid prototyping, and iterative delivery.
Preferred / “Plus” Skills
- Domain experience in construction or project‑based industries.
- Familiarity with CMiC or similar ERP/PM platforms.
- Exposure to prompt engineering, chain‑of‑thought safeguarding, and LLM evaluation tooling.
- Experience with containerization (Docker/K8s) and serverless deployments.
Key Performance Indicators (First 12 Months)
- Automations Deployed: ≥ 3 end‑to‑end agentic workflows in production (e.g., bid‑comparison agent, schedule‑health checker, invoice triage).
- Cycle‑Time Reduction: ≥ 30 % decrease in manual hours for targeted processes.
- Reliability: < 2 % agent‑generated error rate after stabilization.
- Adoption: ≥ 80 % usage rate among intended internal users.
Reporting Line & Collaboration
Reports to the COO. Works closely with Estimating, Project Management, Accounting, and Safety teams, as well as external software vendors.
