Traveling Superintendent

Uprite Construction is looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead a ground up grocery project in Boise, Idaho.

This position requires a Superintendent who has personally led ground up grocery store construction projects. Candidates must be able to demonstrate grocery projects in their project history where they served in a Superintendent or lead field leadership capacity.

The initial assignment will require travel to Boise. Once this project is completed, this individual must be willing and able to travel to future project sites throughout the United States as needed.

We are looking for someone who knows how to run a jobsite, coordinate trades, maintain an aggressive schedule, solve problems in the field, and take ownership of a project from early construction through turnover.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day to day field operations for a ground up grocery store project in Boise

• Manage the project from site work and foundations through vertical construction, interior buildout, inspections, punch, and turnover

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics

• Manage sequencing of trades and ensure subcontractors are prepared for upcoming work

• Maintain the construction schedule and proactively address issues that could impact project milestones

• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, ownership team, design team, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders

• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation

• Oversee quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications

• Lead site safety efforts and maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite

• Conduct daily site walks and monitor progress, productivity, quality, and safety

• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, and field documentation

• Coordinate inspections, punch list activities, turnover, and project closeout

• Travel to future project locations throughout the United States following completion of the Boise project

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction

• Ground up grocery store construction experience is required

• Must have personally led at least one ground up grocery store project as a Superintendent or equivalent field leader

• Grocery store projects must be identifiable within the candidate’s project history

• Strong ground up construction experience from site development through final turnover

• Experience coordinating multiple trades, subcontractors, inspections, utilities, equipment, and vendors

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, sequencing, and field coordination

• Ability to identify potential schedule or construction issues early and develop practical solutions

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage day to day field operations

• Must be willing and able to travel to Boise, Idaho for the initial project

• Must be willing and able to travel to project sites throughout the United States for future assignments

Strongly Preferred Experience

Experience with grocery projects involving complex MEP systems, refrigeration coordination, food service areas, equipment installation, loading and receiving areas, extensive utility coordination, and owner supplied equipment is highly valued.

Candidates with multiple completed ground up grocery stores in their project history are strongly preferred.

Travel Requirements

This is a Traveling Superintendent position.

The initial project is located in Boise, Idaho. Candidates must be able to travel to and remain in the Boise area as required to successfully manage the project.

Following completion of the Boise project, the Superintendent will be assigned to additional projects based on company needs. Future projects may be located anywhere within the United States, so continued nationwide travel is an essential requirement of the position.
