About the Role
The Data Operations Analyst supports the accuracy, integrity, and operational flow of data across enterprise systems. This role focuses on acquisition data migrations, ongoing data quality monitoring, and operational analysis to ensure data is reliable and ready for reporting and decision-making.
The Data Operations Analyst partners with Integration, Business Systems, and business stakeholders to analyze source data, execute repeatable data migrations, validate data loads, and respond to ad-hoc data needs. This role also helps automate manual processes and translate business definitions into clear, well-documented data logic.
Key Responsibilities
Integrations
- Responsible for migrating and processing acquisition data from their system into UPSTACK Salesforce system.
- Partner with key stakeholders and the integration team; manage expectations, and provide consistent and key updates.
- Conduct thorough data and source system analysis to the structure and format of acquired CRM data and define mapping and transformation requirements.
- Utilize declarative ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools to migrate data into Salesforce using repeatable processes while ensuring a high degree of data integrity and accuracy.
- Execute comprehensive audit and testing procedures to validate data loads, leveraging both custom and existing reporting functionalities.
Operations
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Respond to rapid-turnaround data requests to support immediate business decision-making.
- Data Integrity Audits: Run regular checks for data anomalies (e.g., duplicates, unexpected nulls, volume spikes/drops) and validate data against source systems.
- Data Management: Assist in maintaining reference data, mapping tables, and standardized metrics definitions to ensure consistency across the platform.
- Automation: Identify repetitive manual tasks (like manual data patches or file uploads) and write scripts or workflows to automate them.
- Business Logic Translation: Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to define ambiguous metrics (e.g., "Churn Rate," "Gross Margin") and translate those definitions into precise, version-controlled SQL transformations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics/ Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics or something similar.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of data integration and migration concepts, including source system analysis, field mapping, and transformation logic.
- Experience working with CRM data structures (Salesforce or similar) and downstream reporting systems.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and declarative data migration tools.
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation, auditing, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, testable data logic.
- Experience performing data audits and executing repeatable data processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to document data logic and processes.
- Ability to manage multiple data initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
- Experience with Salesforce integrations or post-acquisition data migrations.
- Familiarity with common business metrics (e.g., revenue, churn, margin, commissions).
- Knowledge of data governance, version control, and documentation standards.
- Experience automating manual data tasks using scripts, workflows, or ETL tools.
- Ability to identify data risks, escalate issues, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.
Salary Range
Employees new to UPSTACK typically come in at the start of the pay range. UPSTACK focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure, which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, and job-related skills.
The salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per year + participation in our annual bonus incentive.
