Senior Manger, Strategic and Marketplace FP&A

Upwork is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic and Marketplace FP&A to have immediate impact and help the company make sound financial decisions. This position reports into the Senior Director of FP&A. Your work will include but is not limited to leading the business partnering with our Marketplace Business Unit, financial forecasting and modeling business scenarios, driving strategic resource allocation and return on investment (ROI) analyses. You will also lead and develop a small team.
We are looking for someone who is a highly motivated teammate, has excellent attention to detail, leads by example, and works well both cross functionally and independently.
Your Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for multiple areas of our business.

Be an expert that works to help shape how we measure performance through a financial lens.

Analyze financial and operational data and perform financial analysis to make actionable recommendations for investment decisions.

Collaborate with business partners and team members across the company to develop financial strategies that align with our corporate goals.

Provide regular financial reporting accompanied by insights to partners that communicate business trends and the health of our business.

Drive financial analysis projects from idea to execution: translate a business question into a financial framework, generate insights through analysis, and champion your recommendations to key decision makers.

Experience in finance, analytics, or related quantitative fields.

Critical thinker with sound business judgment and a continuous improvement attitude who quickly raises issues and facilitates an environment to solve them.

A disposition of curiosity, proactivity, determination, and accountability.

Comfort working with complex datasets and experience developing scalable financial models and forecasts.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and familiarity with BI tools. SQL experience is a plus.

Accuracy with numbers and a standard for excellence.

Knowledge of FP&A principles and practices and an understanding of financial concepts.

Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and an eagerness to dive into the data, producing immediate value while still keeping an eye on long-term strategy and scalability.

The annual base salary range for this position is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

$151,000 - $180,500 USD
