The Sr. Director, Corporate Analytics oversees Upwork's Corporate Analytics function, leading several verticals that provide critical analytical support to Business Units across the company. This role includes responsibility for Upwork’s Marketplace Analytics, Enterprise Analytics, Marketing Analytics, CX& Trust and Payments Analytics functions. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating data into actionable insights, and driving strategic decisions across the organization.
As Sr. Director, you will lead and inspire a high-performing Analytics team, ensuring their work delivers measurable business impact. You’ll shape Upwork’s Analytics strategy, drive innovation in our use of data, and foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.
Your Responsibilities

Lead Corporate Analytics: Oversee Upwork's Corporate Analytics function, managing multiple verticals to deliver tailored analytical support to business units across the organization.

Advise Senior Leaders: Partner with executive leadership to deliver insights on user behavior, product performance, and risk mitigation, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Drive Analytics Strategy: Develop and execute the analytical strategies and frameworks that underpin Upwork’s growth and operational excellence.

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Mentor and manage a team of experienced analysts, providing oversight, thought leadership, and opportunities for professional growth.

Enhance Data Infrastructure: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve data systems and tools, enabling analysts and teams to work effectively.

Foster Creativity and Insight: Identify innovative, non-obvious analytical approaches to solve complex problems, driving impactful solutions for a dual-sided marketplace.
What It Takes to Catch Our Eye

10+ years of experience as an analyst and analytics leader, with a proven ability to partner with senior executives and translate business questions into actionable insights.

Demonstrated success in building and scaling analytics teams, including experience leading teams of 8+ analysts across multiple functions.

Expertise in managing analytics projects end-to-end, delivering clear, actionable recommendations with measurable business outcomes.

Deep knowledge of SQL and proficiency in analytics tools like Python, R, or similar platforms; experience with Looker is a plus.

Strong data storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex data into compelling narratives for stakeholders at all levels.

The annual base salary range for this position is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

$217,000 - $271,250 USD
