We’re on the hunt for a visionary Senior. Social Media Manager to lead our rapidly expanding organic social channels and drive our creative vision to the next level. This role is pivotal to amplifying our brand presence, fostering meaningful celebrity, creator & brand partnerships, and creating impactful content that resonates with our audience and amplifies our campaign strategy.
About the Role:
Based in our New York City office (1–2 days/week), you’ll lead the charge in planning, creating, and executing innovative social media strategies that align with UrbanStems’ brand values and marketing campaigns. Your expertise in social media trends and culture-forward marketing will help shape dynamic campaigns, grow our community, and drive measurable business results. This role reports into the VP of Brand, but works cross-functionally across both Performance and Brand as a channel owner contributing to the growth and overall positioning of the brand.
In this role you will have the freedom to innovate, experiment, and lead campaigns that inspire connection and cultural relevance. This is more than a social media role—it’s a chance to shape a beloved brand.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Campaigns:
- Develop and execute cutting-edge social media strategies that align with UrbanStems’ brand values and marketing objectives.
- Build a detailed, forward-thinking content calendar that integrates campaigns, launches, and brand storytelling.
- Identify and jump on real-time opportunities to create culturally relevant content that keeps the brand ahead of trends.
- Craft KPI-driven strategies to convert engagement into measurable traffic, sales, and community growth.
- Decode platforms and master the ever-evolving art and science of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, leveraging data to crack algorithms and drive engagement, conversation, and commerce.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Use tools like Dash Hudson and Google Analytics to track performance, uncover insights, and optimize strategies.
- Provide comprehensive reports to stakeholders, showcasing ROI and actionable opportunities.
Celebrity, Creator & Brand Partnerships:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with celebrities, creators and brand partners that align with UrbanStems’ mission and values and drive growth.
- Oversee campaigns from ideation to execution, ensuring KPIs are achieved.
Creative Oversight:
- Act as the primary channel owner, ensuring strategic consistency across all platforms.
- Provide clear, strategic guidance for partners, ensuring assets align with brand voice.
- Work closely with paid media teams to develop ad-ready content that performs.
Trend Innovation:
- Stay ahead of platform innovations and cultural shifts, proactively integrating them into the brand’s strategy.
- Act as a tastemaker, identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends and opportunities.
About You
- Experience: 5+ years of social media marketing, ideally with lifestyle brands; bonus points for experience building social strategies and processes from the ground up.
- Creative Vision: Expertise in photography, videography, and tools like Canva, Photoshop; proven ability to craft high-performing content.
- Strategic Thinking: A deep understanding of social commerce, community-building, and platform capabilities.
- Analytical Insight: Comfort with data tools like Google Analytics to inform decisions and measure performance.
- Cultural Fluency: A passion for internet culture and an intuitive understanding of what drives engagement and connection.
- Collaboration: A team player who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.

TWO FUNCTIONS
Below breakdown ensures that the Social Media Manager focuses on high-level strategy, analytics, and team leadership, while the Content Creator takes ownership of hands-on content development and execution.
Social Media Manager (3-5 years)
Content Creator (2-3 years)
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation:
- Plan, produce, and capture high-quality content, including photography, videography, and short-form videos (Reels, TikTok, Stories) aligned with the brand aesthetic.
- Write engaging and on-brand copy for posts, ensuring alignment with the content calendar.
- Execution:
- Execute the social media calendar by scheduling and publishing posts across platforms.
- Adapt content to fit platform-specific trends and audience preferences.
- Event Activation:
- Assist in planning and capturing content for in-person giveaways, brand activations, and pop-up events to build community and expand brand visibility.
- Support brand and product photoshoots alongside the creative team.
- Collaborative Content:
- Partner with the Social Media Manager to refine creative concepts and align on content needs.
- Work closely with the paid media team to deliver ad-ready assets, including videos and photos.
- Trend Spotting:
- Proactively pitch culturally relevant, trend-driven content ideas that align with the brand strategy and resonate with the audience.
- Monitor competitors and emerging trends to keep the content fresh and innovative.
