Warehouse Operator / Trainer
Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Warehouse Operator/Trainer. The Warehouse Operator/Trainer will assist in developing the skills and knowledge of warehouse personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operations across multiple functional areas. This position is for our day shift operations working full-time Monday-Friday and may require working on Saturday based on workloads.
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.
Starting pay is $27.99/hour

A day in the life of a Warehouse Operator/Trainer includes proficiency in forklift operation, vertical lift module (VLM) operation, raw material cutoff processes, and other departmental workflows. The Warehouse Operator/Trainer will conduct hands-on training, perform skill assessments, create or maintain training materials, and cover for other operators. This role serves as a safety role model and requires a demonstrated history of safe equipment operation, sound judgment, and the ability to positively influence others by consistently following established procedures, reinforcing safe behaviors, and promoting a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one to two years manufacturing or warehouse experience to include a minimum of two years forklift experience with demonstrated history of safe operation, including consistent adherence to traffic rules, pedestrian right-of-way, and operating procedures. Must be capable of serving as a role model for safe behavior. Prior experience training, mentoring, or coaching employees is required.
