Injection Molding Process Engineer Intern – Summer 2026
Overview
US Conec is offering a hands-on internship opportunity for an Injection Molding Process Engineer Intern to join our Fort Worth team in Summer 2026. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to optimize molding processes, improve tooling performance, and contribute to the production of high-precision fiber optic components. You’ll gain exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges and develop skills in process control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
This internship is ideal for students pursuing engineering degrees who are eager to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Support process engineers with mold setup, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Assist in collecting and analyzing process data to improve cycle time, yield, and quality
- Work with CAD and metrology tools to evaluate mold designs and parts
- Help implement process monitoring systems and document standard operating procedures
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities on the production floor
Projects You May Work On
- Analyze molding cycle data to recommend efficiency improvements
- Test new mold materials or coatings and report on performance
- Document best practices for mold setup and maintenance
- Design simple fixtures to support part handling and quality inspection
Must Haves
- Currently pursuing a degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with injection molding fundamentals and process control concepts
- Comfort working with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented, hands-on, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
