Equipment Rental & Service Coordinator

Elmhurst, IL

EQUIPMENT RENTAL & SERVICE COORDINATOR

USM ReRents (Elmhurst)

Ready to jump-start your career with an established, growing organization at the top of its equipment rental industry niche?

USM ReRents is the leading aerial lift equipment re-rental company in the US, renting articulating booms, ultra-booms, compact crawlers & spider-lifts, and heavy-capacity telehandlers to large equipment rental yards/companies all over North America.  We do this exclusively at the wholesale level so our customers may, in turn, "re-rent" these machines (at retail rental rates) to the end-user - a construction contractor.

Why USM ReRents?

  • Competitive Wage (Earn between $29.00 - $31.50 to start, depending on your related experience.  Full-time, forty-hour work week)
  • 3% wage increase after 3 months - given excellent performance
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package - arranged to support your health & well-being
  • Promotion from within - 100% of our current managerial staff were promoted
  • A work/life balance: At USM, you will very rarely be asked to stay late, or to work weekends.  We will also flex your time when you might need attend a work-week appointment.

What You’ll Do:

  • ReRents operations include interfacing with sales staff, with customers, and with 3rd-party logistics companies to arrange the safe & efficient transport of large/bulky/expensive rental fleet assets to locations where they are needed.  Facilitate equipment rental deals originated by sales staff.  Check on equipment availability, and arrange equipment transfers & related freight.  Monitor the equipment fleet as each asset moves “on” or “off” rent. Generate rental contracts & invoices, and ensure off-rent equipment inspection reports & photos are completed by customers and by trucking companies.
  • Fleet service ensures the assets in USM's equipment fleet are repaired, serviced, and are again available for rent. You will back-up co-workers who proactively engage USM ReRents customers and/or third party vendors to arrange repairs and servicing of poorly-operating or damaged equipment (including units requiring preventive maintenance or an annual inspection).  Help confirm & communicate related information between ReRents sales staff, the operations manager, and repair technicians in order to best-maximize the utilization rate of USM-owned equipment. Help identify customer damage to USM equipment and arrange appropriate invoicing of customers for those substantiated repairs.  Issue purchase orders, help order OEM parts, and ship them to mechanics so they may complete repairs. Schedule fleet machines for annual inspections.
  • You will also monitor GPS tracker alerts received from company-owned equipment assets. These alerts occur whenever a piece of equipment is moved outside of our customers' rental yards (often a first sign that the unit is actively "on-rent"), and you will appropriately notify operations staff. Arrange for the replacement of GPS trackers that have stopped transmitting. Have them installed on newly-purchased equipment.
  • Other important tasks include maintaining valid resale certificates and customer certificates of insurance (COIs), reducing account delinquencies, and accurately scanning & indexing documents.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Related work experience - You have two years’ experience in renting, scheduling, servicing, contracting, invoicing, or arranging the delivery & transportation of equipment.
  • Tech savvy – You possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and a knack to quickly learn new software
  • Communication skills – You have strong written and verbal abilities, plus skills in customer service.
  • Attention-to-detail - You excel in keeping things organized and have a keen eye for accuracy in your work.
  • The fire to succeed – you possess a general sense of urgency, an ability to keep others updated, and to effectively follow-up! You bring positive energy, and are unafraid of new projects.

Preferred candidates may possess an Associate’s degree and/or Construction equipment rental industry experience.

The USM workplace can be fast-paced, for the mission is to maximize the fleet’s utilization. Ours is a heavily team-oriented, in-office work culture.  So if you prefer to work independently, or are not a team player ready to engage and support others, our workplace is not for you.  “Remote” work arrangements are not available.
