Our continued growth spurs this active search for an equipment rental professional to understand the specific equipment needs of new and existing customers, and then provide exceptional equipment solutions. You will communicate with customers and with our sales team, create rental contracts, coordinate equipment deliveries (freight), invoice customers appropriately, and monitor rental fleet as equipment moves "on" and "off" rent.

Role & Responsibilities: 

As the Rental Coordinator, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage customer relationships.  Further establish the level of professional trust and partnership first developed by the sales & marketing team; maintain long term associations.
  • Facilitate equipment rental deals from both inbound inquiries and outbound calls.
  •  Confirm to customers the expert equipment selection advice they’d received from sales.
  •  Create rental contracts that effectively communicate and emphasize the partnership relationship that equipment rental embodies.
  •  Determine availability of appropriate fleet assets and enhance fleet utilization.
  •  Arrange freight associated with equipment transfers; manage related logistics and communications. 
  • Monitor equipment fleet assets via GPS systems.
  •  Obtain off-rent equipment inspections and equipment photos from customers.
  •  Accurately invoice customers.

You will work with fleet service operations to ensure economical rental maintenance costs; communicate essential information to supervisors, to sales staff & to fellow employees; monitor rental market utilization & competitor trends and assist in establishing competitive rental rates; and upon becoming knowledgeable & proficient with standard operations, recommend improvements to process and procedure.

   *The USM workplace can be fast-paced, for response times are important.  Ours is a heavily team-oriented environment.  If you prefer to work independently, or are not a team player possessing a sense of urgency, then this job is not for you.

   *The job’s starting salary range is $64,000 – 70,000 (dependent on industry-related experience). Full benefits.

   *Hours are Monday – Friday (eight per day).  As USM promotes a healthy work – life balance, our work environment rarely requires work > 40 hours per week.

   * USM ReRents has an in-office work culture and is headquartered in southern Elmhurst, IL. Remote work arrangements are not available.

Requirements

At a minimum, job candidates must possess:

    • High school diploma (or equivalent)
    • At least two years’ professional work experience in a related capacity (scheduling, contracting, or invoicing equipment rental, and/or arranging the delivery/freight/transportation of heavy equipment)
    • Demonstrated organizational skills & proven attention-to-detail
    • A willingness to chase down details and a history of effectively keeping interested parties (customers & co-workers) updated
    • A valid State of Illinois Driver's License

Preferred candidates may possess a related degree, additional heavy freight experience, and/or previous equipment rental industry experience. 

Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of aerial construction equipment; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook; skills in time management and in customer service; and abilities to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), to effectively multi-task, to prepare reports, and to read, interpret & communicate equipment drawings and specifications.  Grow your career with USM!
