About the Team
Abraca-Data manages mission-critical relational databases that power the PlayStation platform. With a team of five engineers, we provide operational support, build automation solutions, and oversee compliance, data governance, and security to ensure PlayStation systems run at scale.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Database Engineering Intern to join us for the summer. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to automation and reporting projects that directly impact how we manage workloads and database operations.
You will work alongside senior engineers on projects that combine database management, scripting, and reporting tools—helping the team improve efficiency, streamline processes, and increase visibility into key metrics.
What You’ll Do

Develop automation scripts and tools to support relational database operations

Build dashboards and automated reports to track workload and productivity using JIRA metric

Assist in streamlining internal processes for database governance and compliance

Collaborate with engineers to identify automation and efficiency opportunities

Document solutions and contribute to the team knowledge base

What We’re Looking For
-
Current enrollment in an accredited university Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

Basic knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts

Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages

Interest in automation, databases, and process optimization
Eligibility

Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate

Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
