The Platform Data Solutions team delivers scalable data solutions and infrastructure that support mission-critical services across SIE.

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Solutions & Automation Intern to join our team for the summer. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with cloud automation, infrastructure-as-code, and site reliability engineering practices. You will work alongside experienced engineers to improve self-service capabilities, accelerate cloud provisioning, and strengthen reliability within our data solutioning ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and support of cloud automation and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives

• Assist in developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve developer onboarding and infrastructure self-service workflows

• Support operational excellence efforts, including system reliability, scalability, and observability improvements

• Explore the use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity, testing, and automation

• Document processes, design decisions, and onboarding guides to drive broader adoption across the team

What We’re Looking For

• Current enrollment in an accredited university Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

• Passion for cloud automation, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Familiarity with Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure (configuration, provisioning, lifecycle management)

• Exposure to Go (Golang) programming and modular, domain-driven design concepts

• Interest in leveraging AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, and automation

• Basic understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native application design

• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and eagerness to learn

Eligibility

• Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate

• Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

• Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.
