The Research, Analytics and Decisions (RAD) team transforms data into actionable insights that improve platform health, strengthen partner collaboration, and enhance the player experience worldwide—especially in Cloud Game Streaming.

About the Role

As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will help translate business objectives into technical requirements, develop across database and BI platforms, and deliver insights through analysis and visualization. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with large datasets, modern data pipelines, and advanced visualization tools, while contributing directly to PlayStation’s mission of creating the Best Place to Play.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate business objectives into technical requirements for BI and database development
  • Perform strategic analysis and statistical modeling of platform health and operational performance
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of feature releases and business models to identify opportunities for engagement and profitability
  • Design performant data visualizations across delivery points using Domo, Tableau, and Databrick
  • Co-develop data architecture and pipeline design/build in Databricks
  • Complete and present a final intern project to summarize contributions and findings

What You’ll Learn

  • How data analysis drives strategic decision-making at a global scale
  • Hands-on skills in SQL, database technologies, and big data tools
  • Experience with large datasets, pipelines, and governance frameworks (S3, Snowflake, Databricks, OpenSearch, Grafana)
  • Practical application of Python, PySpark, and scripting for data processing
  • Designing clear, effective dashboards and visualizations with enterprise tools
  • Collaboration within a high-performing analytics team and exposure to real-world BI workflows

What We’re Looking For

  • Current enrollment in an accredited university Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027
  • Ability to articulate analysis clearly and challenge established thinking
  • Technical mindset with curiosity and an explorer mentality for data-driven insights
  • Understanding of SQL principles and eagerness to learn multiple database technologies (relational, columnar, NoSQL)
  • Interest in working with large data sets, architecture, pipelines, and governance
  • Desire to learn and apply scripting and big data technologies (Python, PySpark)
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Domo, Databricks, Streamlit is a plus
  • Relevant industry experience is a bonus but not required
  • Passion and strong interest in gaming

Eligibility

  • Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate
  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Cover letter is encouraged.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
