
Software Engineering Intern - Undergraduate
About The Team:
PlayStation Studios' Software Quality Engineering (QE) teams work across the organization to ensure that the PlayStation brand continues to stand for quality, detail, and exceptional experiences. QE partners closely with developers, designers, and product owners to ensure full test coverage and to develop innovative strategies and technologies for both automation and manual testing.
What You’ll Do:
This internship will focus on helping establish the new test case management system (TCMS). You’ll gain experience in data migration, tool integration, and onboarding support for teams adopting the new system. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:
- Create and update scripts to support data integration into the TCMS system.
- Evaluate and report on data migration quality, providing clear analysis of issues and errors.
- Contribute to best practice documentation to guide future usage.
- Integrate with the tooling repository, ensuring consistency across systems.
- Update scripts to connect existing tools to the new TCMS.
- Onboard new teams by supporting tool setup and creating training materials.
- Report on status, risks, and blockers to keep projects on track.
What You’ll Learn:
- How large-scale quality engineering systems are designed, integrated, and maintained.
- Practical skills in data migration, scripting, and tool integration.
- How to support cross-functional teams through onboarding, training, and documentation.
- Experience applying quality assurance processes to improve workflows across the PlayStation ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related technology field with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Clear and consistent communication skills.
- Adaptability and the ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
- Basic Windows/Mac computer use.
- Basic computer application experience.
- Understanding of version control systems.
- Experience with SQL query generation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Python or JavaScript.
Eligibility:
- Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate
- Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
- Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
