About The Team

PlayStation Studios’ Tools and Technology team is one of several central tech teams within PlayStation Studios. We support game development teams as well as central tech and service teams such as QA. Our work includes debug analysis tools like crash reporting, test automation, and video streaming technology. Many of our tools are used by PlayStation developers worldwide. Alongside supporting game teams within PlayStation Studios, we also collaborate closely with groups in the PlayStation Platform business.

About The Role

We are seeking an intern to join the team working on the Crash Reporting System (CRS). This system collects crash information from PlayStation platforms as well as from other platforms targeted by PlayStation Studios. As an intern, you’ll gain experience in full stack development and cloud infrastructure, working with industry-standard DevOps tools and directly contributing to technology that supports developers around the world.

What You’ll Do

 As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Work on CRS development tasks, contributing to features that support crash analysis for multiple platforms.

  • Gain hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools, learning how large-scale systems are deployed and maintained.

  • Apply your programming skills to full stack development, working across different layers of the system.

  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure tools meet the needs of developers across PlayStation Studios.

What You’ll Learn

  • How large-scale crash reporting systems are designed and maintained for global developer use.

  • Best practices for debug analysis, automation, and cloud-based development workflows.

  • How to contribute to tools that directly support game development and quality assurance.

  • Practical experience applying programming, algorithms, and data structures in a real production environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology field with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript).

  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • An interest in games or tools is a plus.

  • Experience with reinforcement learning, large language models, or generative models is a plus.

Eligibility

  • Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate 

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
